Hi I'm Eric

I'm a swimmer, an Adventurous traveler, I love summer season and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 22 and live in Orange County, California. I grew up with my feet in the water all the time, with many days were spent outside enjoying the sun. As you might guess, I say "dude" a lot and much of the other lingo us California's say. I am enthusiastic about food, both eating and cooking, It has become a hobby of mine. Other than this I enjoy all things out doors, especially when traveling to new places. I have traveled a lot with family and friends. I feel that I could call any place home but will forever love my beautiful California. Life Goal is to travel to every continent. Love Life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know who God and Jesus Christ are, and how that effects me in my life. I grew up with these teaching, and have been always told what is right and what is wrong. Some may say, "well that's all you have known." To which I am happy that it is all I have known, because it gives me peace in this world. This has had the biggest impact on me from the friends I hang out with to the things I enjoy doing, even how I am with my family. As kids will be a headache at one point of another to their parents, I'm definitely sure I did that. Normal right? I consider myself lucky. This has really become who I am and not just something I do. We all want to be something in this life, whether that is a good parent, successful at work, a good husband or wife, no matter these many concerns or desires. Through Jesus Christ that desire has made it possible for me to become who I want to be in life. With so much good in the world there is bound to be bad, but the teachings of Christ have helped me to have an optimistic outlook on life and to enjoy the little things that matter. God created this beautiful Earth for us to enjoy, and His love is in reach for everyone. I have come to know that Jesus lives today, that there is a modern day prophet that guides His church. We all can have a joy that last forever, and why wouldn't we want to have that...?

How I live my faith

Being involved whether it is in a little way for in a big way it matters. Currently I am a missionary for the Church in Philly, I server others by spreading the message of the restored church, and invite all people. When I was younger I served with a group of High School kids in the church near me to plan activities and socials for the kids to interact and to meet new people. That was a lot of fun because we all made some strong ties with other we didn't know, and it provided a big support system for everyone involved. I have been a College ward collection of members activities planner as well. When growing up I went with my family to soup kitchens, making quilts for foreign countries, and doing what we can in the community where I live to clean up and help after Fires that we have annually.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

The ways I have come to increase my faith in Jesus are through learning about Him. Who he was, what he taught, and how he will help us as we serve him. Jesus Himself even said, "Come learn of Me." The Bible and the Book of Mormon has increased my faith collectively because he has commanded us to read the scriptures often. This is the best way to come to know about Jesus Christ and to see how he talked with people and showed his love for them and invited all to follow him. Faith for me has always been a different word and hard to understand, so I attribute it to "A confidence" in Jesus Christ. Confidence that what He did and says is true and will help us all no matter what walk of life we come from. It is this Confidence in Jesus Christ that motivates me everyday.  Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We got the nickname "Mormons" because we believe in and read from the Book of Mormon. It is actually an incorrect name to be called because we focus so much on Jesus Christ. The official name is, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints," because Jesus Christ heads this church, He is the corner stone and is also the central figure in all our worship. It is not Mormon's church, but Christ's church. God told Joseph Smith in 1838 that the name of the Church should be, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The name of the Church was also mentioned in the Book of Mormon to those living at that time, " And they who were baptized in the name of Jesus were called the church of Christ." 3 Nephi 2621 Show more Show less
