Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in a small Wyoming town. I am a Husband, Father, pilot and CEO. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am first a husband to a loving and forgiving wife, and a father of five wonderful and now grown children. My wife and family are my best friends. I am passionate about growing into the potential that my Heavenly Father has for me, and assisting His children in any way I can. I see myself as Paul did "Chief Among Sinners", and yet I believe through the Atonemen of Christ, all can be made whole. My interests are mostly entrepreneurial in nature having started and grown our own businesses for many years. Along the way, I have discovered that the only reason to have a business is the bless the lives of others and so I am now involved with a program in the asia pacific to assist young single adults start and thrive in their own entrepreneurial persuits. I love to travel with my family, write, golf a little and fly fish a little for relaxation. I find my greatest peace in the scriptures. In my spare time, I currently serve a a Bishop of the greatest young single adult ward upon the earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family of multiple faiths, my Mom being LDS. I always felt comfortable around the LDS community, and found that whatever faith my friends practiced, the LDS community respected their beliefs. This impressed me, and the more I studied the faith, the more inclined I was to be a part of it. I served a two year mission. My Dad joined the Church when I was serving a full time mission and my baptist brother was also baptized into the Church, joining the rest of the siblings in our united faith. A little later in life, I taught religion classes for 15 years, to include seminary and the LDS Institute of Religion at Colorado State University. The more I study the scriptures, other faiths, and theology in general, the more I find that the LDS Church contains a fullness of truth. Someone from any faith can find their joy more full, their faith more robust, the relationship they have with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father more personal, and their happiness and peace more complete through this Church. I have prayed earnestly to know the ecclesiastical path I should take. I have felt and continue to feel a deep warmth and wholeness inside that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth, and that the ordinances of salvation including the covenants and attendant blessings are resident in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Guided by living Prophets and Apostles, the Church is guided in these times through revelation and direction from on high. As a part of the restoration, the Prophet Joseph Smith was given ancient records which he translated by the gift and power of God, and is known as the Book of Mormon. This scripture is another testament of Christ, and is a companion to the Holy Bible and other scripture in testifying that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God. I feel blessed to be a member of the LDS faith, and am humbled that Heavenly Father has blessed me to know of the truthfulness of these things.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as Bishop of the Spring Creek Young Single Adult Ward. I stand in awe of the ward members as they love and serve one another, and strive to live the Gospel. In our faith, we have no paid clergy, but give of our time and talents. We know that no one is complete by themselves that we need one anothers gifts to be made more complete. As we forget ourselves in the service of others, we begin to understand the Atonement, and the great gift that God gave us in His Son.
