Hi I'm Andrew

I'm an automotive technician and a Mormon

About Me

At work many may not think of me as a Mormon. That's because I'm an automotive technician. Being a little scruffy, having messed up hair, dirt, oil and a blue uniform can all go away. It's what is deep inside that matters. At home I am a husband to a wonderful wife and father to 3 beautiful girls. I also have a multigenerational home. My mother in law Elayne and brother in law Doug have lived in my home since Dad passed away from cancer. I don't see this as a great service or sacrifice. This is what families should do to help each other.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a very basic testimony of the Gospel. The summer I was 20 years old I decided I needed to know for myself. I began studying the scriptures hard, reading all over and finally came to the conclusion I needed to pray about it. I fasted and went for a drive into the mountains to find a quiet place. When I knelt down and began praying I asked to know if the church was true. I was filled with light and an overwhelming sense of love and peace. I knew at that moment with every fiber of my being that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's work on the earth. Since that day I have worked hard to keep myself committed to to gospel and be an example of the believers.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the leadership of the congregation which I belong to. It is hard but very fulfilling work. Helping others grow closer to Christ is what this is all about. For me this involves a lot of work with people of all ages, children to adults. Sometimes things that people need are simple visits to remind them that someone cares. Other times it can be as hard as counseling someone who is struggling greatly with the difficult circumstances that life throws at us. Many times I help in planning and carrying out gospel centered activities that strengthen homes, families and individuals.
