Hi I'm Tim Gatten

I am from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I am a father of five. I am an endodontist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5 children and an endodontist--root canal specialist. My children are 10, 8, 5, 3 and 7 months. My passions in life are snow skiing, biking, boating and the outdoors. I play the violin and love playing and watching sports. I am a BYU Cougar and UW Husky alumni. My wife and I met while ski instructing at Sundance ski resort.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church. I was encouraged to gain an understanding and testimony of my own. I read the scriptures (Bible and The Book of Mormon) and attended church growing up. When I was fourteen years old, one of my friends was baptized in the LDS church. This gave me a desired to find the truth for myself. I prayed earnestly to know if the LDS church was true. That night I felt the influence of the spirit so strong that I felt as if the arms of the savior were wrapped around me letting me know His love for me. I continued to feel His influence in my life by earnestly trying to live as He would want me to live. I had the amazing opportunity to serve a full-time mission in Trinidad and Tobago which further strengthened my testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their love for all of us. While working at Sundance ski resort, I met the love of my life and now have five children. We have found strength in trying to live the gospel in our family. I know Christ lives and loves us and blesses us as we strive to live His commandments.

How I live my faith

I am a volunteer leader of a group of men in the church and prepare gospel lessons and organize gospel discussions. We are assigned families in the church to visit, and attend to their needs. We perform service for each other and for the community. I sponsor and coach sports teams that my children are involved in. I have enjoyed the friendships and relationships that I have developed through this service.
