Hi I'm Annette

I grew up in the Western United States. I'm a mother of boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the mother of four boys. I am blessed to be a "stay at home" mom. I love learning new things and seeing new places. I have a knack for organization and like things to be neat and organized, which doesn't always mesh too well with being the mother of four boys! My love of organization is probably why I was drawn to accounting as my major in college, and why I still enjoy any opportunity to work in that field. Currently, I do accounting as volunteer work for my boys' school. I read a lot. My favorite genre of book to read is historical fiction, because history is another of my interests. My mom taught me how to sew, and I enjoy sewing projects occasionally. I have also done a little bit of cross-stitch, embroidery, and quilting. I love doing these kinds of projects because I know I am creating something that will last a long time. So much of what I do isn't permanent. The house doesn't stay clean the laundry is never done! Because of this fact, I get a lot of satisfaction out of doing things that I know will be long lasting. For that same reason, I value the time that I get to spend with my children. I know that the things I teach them and the memories we make together will have a lasting impact in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon first of all because I was born into a large Mormon family. I have chosen to stay a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I always believed what I was taught as a child by my parents and teachers, but it was important to me to know for myself that what I was taught was right, and not just lean on the belief of my parents. Over years of trying my best to live the principles of the gospel, praying, and feeling the spirit speak to my heart, I came to know for myself that the gospel is true and that this church is the kingdon of God on the earth. Living the gospel brings me peace and happiness. I can't imagine life without it!

How I live my faith

One of the things I love about my faith is that it's a part of my life and how I live every day, not just on Sundays. Knowing that I am a child of God and that I am trying to become more like the Savior effects the choices I make and the relationships I have with others. All members of this church have the opportunity to serve others in many ways. I have learned so much and been blessed in many ways as I have accepted invitations to serve in different ways. I have spent many years teaching and serving the children and youth. I am currently the president of the organization for children ages 18 months to 11 years. The time I spend with the children every week is precious. It is my greatest desire that each of them can come to know the Savior for themselves, because I know that with His help they will be able to get through any challenge that may come to them. We live in a world where it is getting harder and harder to make good choices and to avoid evil. I feel that by teaching them the principles of the gospel, I am giving these children the best possible chance to resist temptation and to live happy lives.
