Hi I'm Rachel

I'm spontaneous, a world traveler, a medical school student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been somewhat of a non-conventional thinker. I live for thrill rides and extreme activities like bungee jumping and skydiving. Being a recent college graduate without a definitive plan as to life after college, I took the opportunity to do what I have always wanted to do and travel abroad for a little while. As I was traveling across Europe, life changed for me with a simple email saying I was accepted to medical school! As fast as that I flew back to the states and started medical school. Since then I have tried to find a balance between my hectic life as a medical student and my ever longing desire to experience new things.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church long before I came along, so I had the opportunity to be raised in a Mormon home. I am grateful for the loving, supportive, trusting environment my parents raised me in. I have been a Mormon my entire life. But it wasn't until I was in middle school that I finally started to develop my own testimony of the church. I have prayed for a testimony of my Savior and I know with out a doubt that He loves me and that He died so that I might live. I am grateful for the Lord and I rely on Him everyday of my life.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to participate in many different areas of the church from helping plan activities to teaching the youth. I am currently blessed with the opportunity to teach Sunday school in my local congregation.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Having had the opportunity to travel to many different places around the world, it never ceases to amaze me that practically no matter where I go, I can find a Sunday service to attend. It also never ceases to amaze me that no matter where I am, I can feel the same love from the members. I believe the growth of the Church can be attributed to the overwhelming love people feel when they learn about their Savior's love for them and the overwhelming love they can feel when they are at church. What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The simplest things in life tell me there is a God. Anything from hearing a motivational story of someone persevering through a huge trial, to seeing the most breathtaking landscapes this Earth has to offer. Having the opportunity to study medicine has also shown me that God exists. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Mormon Church has been the greatest blessing in my life. The members of my congregation are like my family away from home. I find great strength in my fellow members. I learn so much from others examples and from others testimonies. I think being a Mormon has given me the eyes to look at life with a sense of optimism that no matter how hard things get, I can always rely on God for guidance, comfort and love. There is nothing more reassuring to me in my life, than to know I have a purpose on this Earth and that I know I am loved and cared for by my Heavenly Father.   Show more Show less
