Hi I'm Emily

I'm a student-soon-to-be dental hygienist, I'm a new wife, I'm a dog lover and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey I'm Emily! I am currently a student yet soon to be "official" dental hygienist. I LOVE teeth = I am married to my best friend and partner in crime, Mark and I couldn't be happier! And I'm a mormon..

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS faith and I couldn't have it any other way. I have a personal testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel and the happiness and joy it brings to my life because of its wonderful teachings. Growing up as a Mormon has given me my own personal values, morals and beliefs that govern my daily life. Without them I would feel lost and unsure of what "true" happiness really entails. The Gospel takes good people and makes them better. This is why I love the Gospel so much! It allows me to become the best version of myself. I am able to see the "big picture" in life and to keep what is most sacred and important near and dear to my heart.

How I live my faith

Sometimes it seems as though to be a righteous member of the Church there is a never-ending "To-Do" list. But in all reality the steps are meant to be simple and easily understood. Things like saying your daily prayers morning and night, reading and searching the scriptures, service to others, loving your neighbours, being chaste and virtuous, dressing modestly. The list goes on and on but it is there for a reason, so that we can strive to become Christlike and draw closer to HIm and our Heavenly Father. These are some of the things I try to do to stay true to my faith and live it the best that I can. I love having daily prayers and scripture study with my husband! It is such an important way to draw closer to one another and to Heavenly Father. Family Home Evening is great too. Since it is just my husband and I, we like to spend the night doing this with family for the time being. Growing up I don't know if I can say I "loved" FHE but I really do love it now! I think it is meant to be a spiritual and fun experience. I am currently the second counsellor in the Young Women's Presidency of our Church. I help plan activities and teach young girls aged 12-18. They are so full of life and testimony and it really helps to recharge my own testimony.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everyday life is full of evidence and truth that there is in fact a God and he does love and care for each one of us very much. The warm beautiful sunshine that lights our day, the intricate patterns in nature such as butterfly wings, leaves, a snowflake. God gave us our families which is the most important central unit - it is supposed to be this way! Families are not accidental. Heavenly Father designed them to be this way. The breathtaking landscapes that cover this beautiful Earth. These are only a few of God's gifts and blessings to us to show us that He is there and He does love us. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Our loving Heavenly Father is the creator of love. He created the sanctity of marriage. When we are married in God's Temple, we make sacred promises to our spouse and to our Heavenly Father. These promises help us to stay happy and faithful in our marriage. They keep us close to our Heavenly Father and one another. Because of this sacred and special event, we are blessed to be united or sealed together for all time and eternity. Our future children are bound to us forever and because of this gift we can all have the opportunity to be with our family forever. It makes me sad to hear the famous words in the wedding vows" till death do we part". I don't believe that the creator of all love would only allow that love to last in this lifetime. Heavenly Father wants our love and marriage to be without end and that is such a blessing in my life. My husband and I were married eight months ago in the Temple and it was by far the most spiritual experience I have ever had. The Spirit was so strong that I was overwhelmed and I knew that we would be together forever. Show more Show less
