Hi I'm McKenzie

My favorite activity is laughing. Hysterically. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I'm what most would consider a "homemaker." To be honest, I never thought I'd be a homemaker. I always pictured myself being a career woman. But I am blessed with an awesome husband who makes a decent living so that I get to stay home with our baby. And I LOVE it. Nothing brings me more joy than being with my family. Other things I love are basketball, volleyball, Rom-coms (romantic comedies), being outdoors, and being active in general.

Why I am a Mormon

I think about this question quite often. I was raised in a small town in Utah where the majority of people were Mormons. It was a simple decision to be baptized when I was 8 years old. Why is it still so important to me as a grown woman? The reason I have stayed in this church and will continue to do so is honestly because of the Holy Ghost. I can tell you still to this day the feeling I had in the baptismal interview with my Bishop when he asked me if I would like to be baptized. The Holy Ghost was there and I felt warm and peaceful- I felt Heavenly Father's arms around me. I have felt this same feeling over and over again in my life at times when I need it most. I know it's not just a coincidence or something nice. In my heart I know that this is where God wants me to be and it is much more than just an organization to be a part of. It is literally my eternity and my family's eternity that is at stake. I love this gospel. I am so grateful that I was born in that small town and got to be baptized at such a young age. I look forward to the day that I can live forever with my husband and my children in the presence of a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I used to think that the only way to live my faith was to live perfectly. I have had to learn that not only is that not possible, it's maddening. Instead, each day I try to focus on just one thing I can do to bring myself closer to my Savior. I want people I meet and talk with to feel His love through me. None of us here are perfect but I think if we can live with love in our hearts we will all be living the way God wants us to.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

McKenzie
The Holy Ghost is a gift received after the act of baptism has been performed. Often referred to as The Spirit, the Holy Ghost can provide a host of needs such as comfort, direction, peace, and hope. However, we must remain worthy to have these blessings bestowed upon us. The Holy Ghost has blessed my life by giving me guidance through tough decisions and also giving me the assurance that I am making the right choice.
