Hi I'm Sara

I'm happy to be me and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just a simple gal who enjoys life and loves to make other people happy. I've had opportunities to travel and I love seeing and learning new things. I graduated from college with a degree in Recreation Management and I like to help others have opportunities for wholesome recreational activities. I am currently working as a full time care-giver for three children and love playing with them.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons, but the first and primary reason is because I've read the Book of Mormon, prayed and asked God, and received an answer through the holy ghost and now I know that the church is true. Several times. Yes, I was born into a family that practiced the Mormon faith, but as anyone can tell you, without a personal testimony you probably won't stay "active" very long. I'm a Mormon because I want to become the best person that I can and I know that being a member of the church can help me do that.

How I live my faith

Daily scripture study and prayer. Writing in a journal. Searching for service opportunities. Trying to do what the Lord would have me do. Weekly, my evenings are often filled with activities designed to help me become a better person- family home evening every Monday, institute a weekly religion class on Wednesdays, church every Sunday, and temple attendance. I also have a calling to coordinate the Sunday meetings so I spend time contemplating and praying about topics and asking people to speak in church and offer the opening and closing prayers. Monthly, I am a visiting teacher and I visit with two fantastic girls who are in my ward- or congregation. I make sure they're doing well and love the time I get to spend getting to know them.

What is being a Mormon like?

Sara
Practically, being a member of the Mormon Church is not just a "one-day-a-week" kind of commitment. Personally, I am very involved in activities and in an average week I probably spend 5 nights either at a church activity or spending time with people I know through church. Sometimes I feel like my life is revolving around being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love it! Being a member of the Mormon Church is like having an instant family wherever you go. It could be really intimidating to move to a new place, but it gives me great peace to know that I will have family no matter where I am. There is a sense of belonging that I've never felt anywhere else. Spiritually, the things I've learned and know from being a member of the church shape each and everyday of my life. Because of the doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ I know who I am. I know I am a child of God. There is confidence and assurance that comes from knowing who I am. I also know that God calls prophets to guide us today and that we can be safe when we follow that counsel. This knowledge gives me great peace each and every day. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that gives me hope that I can be better.   Show more Show less
