Hi I'm Christina

I am a student, a wife, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 21 year old college student who recently got married. I come from a family of six. I have three sisters and two brothers. One of my sisters is adopted and the rest are my half blood brothers and sisters. It's rather confusing, but I love them all the same. I was born in Frankfurt, Germany because both my parents served in the military. I have asthma, allergies, and eczema, but I don't let it bring me down! I am an avid dog lover - especially chihuahuas - and I have a wonderful chihuahua mix who I adopted from a rescue. I enjoy playing video games mainly Halo, Super Mario Kart, and Fable. I rarely have time for anything because I work, study, and focus on caring for my husband and the house - we split chores, so that's helps greatly! And he takes care of me, too! My husband is a non-member. He is a Lutheran, however I am so blessed that he understands my love and devotion to the church, its members, and to God Himself and supports my activity within the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church alongside my brother. My parents converted - first my mom, then my dad. My brother, as soon as he turned eighteen, left the church which hurt me a lot because I really missed having someone to talk to about the church in my own family and you know, some teens just don't want to talk to their parents sometimes. At age fifteen or sixteen we moved wards and that hurt my family a lot. Soon, my parents stopped going to church and at first I asked why but then I soon accepted that we were no longer active members of the church. My dad had his hobbies and my mom had her hobbies and I spent my Sundays working. When I turned eighteen I felt the need for something in my life - I knew I was missing something, and whenever I saw or heard something about the church it immediately caught me. I knew I had to go back, but I was hesitant. I searched other churches - Baptist, Catholic, Christian, Lutheran, and Methodist. I even attended a Japanese Christian church once. But nothing seemed to help me. Finally, I told my mom that I wanted to talk to the missionaries and start lessons. My mom sent them to me and I've been speaking with them ever since. Ever since then, I've felt better and better. Finally, I feel complete again. My life has gotten easier, happier, and better. I know the church is true and I know Heavenly Father is true This I know from my past experiences.

How I live my faith

I received a calling in the church to be the music coordinator of primary. Basically, I sing fun songs with the children for two hours! It is a very fun and enjoyable experience and I am blessed to be around such beautiful, young voices. The women who also lead primary are amazing and wonderful examples to me. They help me be strong and have been there for me. I attend church every Sunday for three hours. I pray every day and I try to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day, whether it be a single verse or a whole chapter. I live my life accordingly to the best of my abilities and I never hesitate to answer any one's questions to the best of my knowledge, although sometimes I am worried I will say the wrong things. I lead by example - I try my best to keep a positive attitude, watch my language, dress, and manner. I also try to work hard in school and at work. It is difficult practicing my faith since my husband is not a member. We do not have Family Home Evening and we rarely pray together, but this is something we are working on!
