Hi I'm Trish

I sell insurance, am a wife, & a mother of 2, and proud that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mississippi, with my mother, and grandmother, and younger brother. My mother was/is addicted to crack, & alcohol, for as long as I can remember. She would take my brother and I to crack houses, where she may stay for days, or drop us off at my grandmother's house. I learned quickly how make my way around, and by the age of 10, I new every drug, how to use it, and how it would effect people. By the age of 12 I had to move with my dad to Missouri, due to my mother not being able to take care of my brother and I. My dad was set on making sure that I wouldn't turn out like my mother, so every time I got in touble for something, he would beat me (instead of your normal spanking). My mother would state that she was coming up to see me, and I would set on the pourch all day waiting for her, until late that evening I would call her, and she would state "I'm sorry something came up." By the time I was 16, I hated life and my parents, and wanted to just get away. I graduated from highschool, went back to Mississippi were I met my husband. Right before I turned 19 I was married, and had two beautiful children, but because of differences, I was divorced by 25. I stayed by myself, belived that God was real, but wasn't sure about all of it. I stated speaking to the missionaries when I was 30, and joined the church. I met my husband who I love dearly, and was married in the Bountiful Temple.

Why I am a Mormon

Im Mormon, because I know that it is the right way to go. I listened to other religions, even went to church a time or too in the past, but noting seemed to change the way I felt, about church or God. I personally like the singing in a Baptist church (choir), however I knew that wasn't gonna help me. I know that I am a good person, and a good mother to my children, but it seemed like something was missing.I spoke with some missionaries, and Heavenly Father knew what I needed to hear, and when I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed I knew that it was the truth, I knew that this was the place that I was suppost to be. I was baptized when I was 30, and have a member ever since.

How I live my faith

When I was talking to the missionaries, I worked on Sundays, so it was hard to go to church. I prayed about, getting a job so I didn't have to work on Sundays. I took my vacation that I built up over time, and took every Sunday that I could off. Later I got a call about a job, but it was 2000 miles away from home, well I prayed, took the job (with less pay), and moved my family. I knew deep down that heavenly father would protect us, because I was doing what he wanted. My husband already lived in the place where I moved to, and we got married a couple of months after I moved. Some things in my life have been hard, but I live my life everyday trying to help others, and showing them that they can do it, but you have to put your faith in God/Jesus. I tell them my story, so that it may help them. I do my visit teaching (go to others house to talk about God/Jesus), and volunteer in the food place, and help with activities for the teen age girls.
