Hi I'm Cassie

I'm a hiker, a biker, and a full-time graduate student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn new things, from ballet to boxing and economics to fire ecology, I am always in the pursuit of knowledge. I spent my undergraduate years hiking, camping, and star-gazing from Alaska to Costa Rica and everywhere inbetween and loved every minute learning about nature and forest ecosystems. I took a brief hiatus from school to work, but inevitably my nose found its way back to the books. I am pursuing my master's degree but still finding time to enjoy biking, swimming, quilting, knitting, and chasing around my energetic nephews!

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned over the years that happiness truly comes by living the commandments and walking the path that our Father has prepared for us.

How I live my faith

I just try to be a good friend. It doesn't matter what calling I am in, working with the young or the elderly, I have always tried to love those that I was serving. I have never met a person who couldn't use a little more love, more smiles, more compliments, or more friends. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he administered to his people one by one with perfect charity. I hope to become more like Him.

What is being a Mormon like?

I think one of the best things about being a member of the church is you have a common interest no matter where you go. I have moved several times in the last couple of years each time I have met new friends almost immediately through the church. I love that the organization is the same worldwide and that we have the same scriptures and lesson manuals. I also love that we have a living prophet and apostles who have been called by God to lead and guide us at this time, and who speak to us about problems that are happening today, and tell us how to keep moving forward and how to be happy even in hard times. It is wonderful to be part of an organization just for women with the motto "Charity Never Faileth", which encourages women to reach out and bear each others' burdens. I love being a member of this church! Show more Show less
