Hi I'm Carl.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A few years ago I had the wonderful opportunity of serving a mission in the country of Poland. I have been back for a while now, but the memories formed there will always and forever hold a place in my heart. After returning from the mission, I graduated from college in Mechanical Engineering. I then was married to a lovely lady who has since exhibited the patience of Job and more as I went back to school to get a Masters in Nuclear Engineering. We now have three wonderful little boys, and in the attempt to settle down and start realizing some dreams, we have moved over 2700 miles away from family and friends to live and work in beautiful Northern Alabama.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it to be truth. For a long time I think that I just kind of skirted on through life without having any real convictions. Life was good, but that's all it was. Until one day at church while one of our youth leaders were talking something seemed to click and the first of many searching dominos was set into motion. I actually wanted to find answers for myself. I wanted to know what the Lord had planned for me. I wanted some real direction and purpose to my life. I really began to read from the scriptures daily and I found that the more I did, the more I wanted to know. I found myself keeping a journal of my thoughts and feelings and this helped to push me further to find the truth. The power of the Atonement and the sacrifice of our Saviour began to be more than just a story but something real and my heart burned within me as I tried to study the life of Christ. These feelings were what I was missing in my life and I never wanted to let them go. These feelings are what led me to change and dedicate my life to something greater. I learned then and still know now that I am a child of my Heavenly Father and He truly does love and care for me just like my parents do here on earth. I know that His love for me included sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins and make it possible for me to return and live again with them after this life. I know that my Savior lives and wants nothing more than for me to remember and apply what He did during his life on earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is a powerful tool in learning the gospel of Jesus Christ. It testifies boldly of the Savior appearing to a group of people living in the Americas and teaching them his gospel as well. The Book of Mormon also represents a restoration of the true priesthood of God and all that is possible with it. I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us and to help us in our day he continues to call prophets and apostles to teach and preach His word that we might return to Him someday. I know this to be true today just as I found so many years ago when the Holy Ghost bore witness of this truth to my heart. Because of this knowledge I am a new man. I make mistakes, but I get back up again when I fall and try even harder to reach the goal. I know that in tough times all I need to do is get down on my knees and pray and I will find and feel my Saviors love. This is what gives me motivation each day. This is what helps me to strive to be the best husband, father, brother and friend that I can be. This is my testimony.

How I live my faith

Currently I have been blessed to work with the youth in the area in both scouting and church. I get to teach them, listen to them and learn from them twice a week as they are preparing themselves for the future. I also try to make sure that our home is a place that the spirit of the Lord can dwell. Between my wife and I we try to teach the gospel in our home by our actions, traditions and words. I love to serve others and look for opportunities to hear the testimonies of others.
