Hi I'm Kerry

I'm a wife, a writer and the mother of hockey-loving boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a wife and the mother...even on the hard days. My children have helped me become a better person by teaching me patience, compassion and how to laugh at myself. When our oldest son left on his mission, I went back to school to finish my degree, with the encouragement of my family. It hasn't always been easy but my husband and sons have been supportive, even helping me with my homework. When I'm not being mom or a student, I review movies for parents and families. I have come to appreciate the powerful influence of the media in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where my parents not only taught us the Gospel but lived it in their own lives. I learned at a young age that our Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers, especially those of children. Prayer remains important to me as I seek guidance, peace and the courage to do what it right. I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness and helps me live life with confidence.

How I live my faith

Living the Gospel influences my daily decisions--how I will spend my time, what activities I will participate in, how I will serve others. One way I live my faith is by serving in the church and community. The opportunity to be involved in service has given me the chance to learn many new skills but, more importantly, to associate with many wonderful people I would never have known otherwise. I know that God cares for all of His children. I believe that He expects us to be actively involved in improving and blessing the lives of those around us.
