Hi I'm Pat

I'm happily married, a father of five, businessman, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the western U.S., but through work and church service, have had the opportunity to live in a number of states and foreign countries. In fact, I've spent almost ten years of my life overseas -- in Asia -- and treasure the great experiences that provided me and my family. Speaking of family, I've been happily married almost 30 years and have five children, ages 7 to 25. I like running, cycling, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a good mormon family, but just because I was raised a mormon didn't mean I could follow that lifestyle into adulthood without gaining my own conviction of its truthfulness. Like anyone else, I had to study and investigate to find out for myself what this religion means to me. I went through this process of study and prayer In my late teens and realized that the "faith of my fathers" was still the faith for me. The answers it provided to such basic questions as "Where did I come from", "What's the purpose of life", and "What happens after death", as well as the guidance it gives me in raising my own family, were particularly meaningful to me.

How I live my faith

Our local congregation of the church has about 200 regular attendees and, like most members of the church, I have responsibilities and service opportunities. For example, I am responsible for visiting several families once a month in their homes to check on their welfare and provide a spiritual message. I also teach a Sunday school class. In the past, I've had responsibilities for teaching the youth, leading the men's priesthood organization, and even serving as president/pastor of an entire congregation.
