Hi I'm Emily

I can't escape music. I served a mission in New York to Spanish people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying to be an Elementary School teacher. I'm a red-head and forget how different I look sometimes. I love to compose music - pop, piano, I love composing. I could spend hours in a piano room by myself singing and composing. I love Hispanic people! I love their delicious food, their kisses, their hugs, and their unconditional love. I lived in New York and at first I hated it, all the noise and people and crowdedness. I came from a smaller town in Arizona. But I fell in love with New York and its smells and noise and people.

Why I am a Mormon

I came to a point in my life when I was ready to give up being a Mormon because I realized I didn't know what was the truth. I told God I would give up being a Mormon if He told me it wasn't true, and something else was. I became so confused and worried about what was true I couldn't stop thinking about it. One night I was home by myself and I decided to ask God what the truth was. I decided that whatever religion had the truth, if any did, that I would give up being a Mormon, I would have to face my family and my friends and tell them I was leaving the church, and I would join whatever religion did have the truth, no matter what. I prayed that night with more determination to wait and listen than I have ever prayed before. I'm a Mormon today because that night I got an answer from my Heavenly Father. I know that He wants us to have the truth because the truth will make us happy, and that is all a loving Father would want for His children. I know that if we ask Him with a deep desire to know the truth, He will show us where we can find it. I love Him and know He loves me.

How I live my faith

I visit two women in the church with my friend. We talk about their lives and make sure they're doing okay. We give a message about the Savior and then ask if there is anything we can do to help them. Often we have been able to be in the right place at the right time. I know God uses us to help His daughters.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, as is procreating life, when done between a man and a woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife. The Law of Chastity is a commandment that God has given us all that protects us and keeps us truly safe and happy. It is that all intimate actions and feelings are to come only after marriage, and are to be employed only between man and wife. Sexual intimacy is ordained by God and is sacred, and is to be used only between a husband and wife because it effects the lives of His other precious children, and controls when they will come here to this earth. He loves all His children, and desires their happiness, and wants for each child to be raised in a good home with parents who will love them and care for them. Show more Show less
