Hi I'm Esther

I am a lover of learning, an outdoors enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was younger we moved around a lot because my Dad was in the Air Force and both my parents were going to school. For the last 10 plus years we've called Southern Oregon home. It is the perfect place to grow up. There are plenty of trails to run on, mountains to explore and it's where family is. Currently I'm a student at BYU studying Physiology and Developmental Biology. My enthusiasm for sports had a big influence when I decided what to study. The human body is a wonderful gift and I am thankful for this opportunity to study its inner workings, my testimony of a divine creator has grown as I have come to understand what a miracle life is. Anyone who knows my family knows that we run and I may go in and out of shape but my love for spending time with my father and siblings on a family run has always been consistent (even if sometimes it is very painful).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but that's not the reason that I am a member today. I know that each person has their own conversion story. A testimony is something we each have to find for ourselves. My testimony came through personal experiences and from many hours spent on my knees pleading with my Father in Heaven. To be plain and simple the reason I am Mormon is because of the happiness it has brought me and my family. When we are doing our best to live the commandments there is peace in our lives. Living the gospel brings a special spirit into your life and into your home. This gospel is for everyone and I testify that it will bring you the happiness that you are searching for.

How I live my faith

As James put it, "faith if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." Many can say they believe in God but without the evidence of their life they cannot claim to have the name of Christian when he comes again. I live my faith by my life. I am not perfect but I try to show that I am a believer in all I do. A great man once said "if you aren't happy you aren't doing it right." I know that the gospel of Christ is meant to bring us real joy. I know that as I live His gospel I am happy and what better way to show my gratitude than to share this joy with others. I recently returned home from a full time LDS mission. As a missionary some of my responsibilities including supporting the local congregation, serving in the local community, and teaching everyone about the restored gospel. Even though I was far from family this has been the happiest time of my life because I was able to consecrate every thought and action to my Savior and truly forget about myself. Now as a returned missionary I live my faith by my everyday actions. Serving those around me and inviting them to come closer to Christ. Most importantly I live my faith by repenting daily. I know that I am human which means that I make a lot of mistakes. Thankfully for me (and everyone) I have a loving older brother that has given me a way to repent. I know that Jesus Christ is the only way!
