Hi I'm Sarah

I am a daughter, granddaughter, sister, and wife. I cherish my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college with a degree in Theatre Arts in 2009 and have spent a great deal of my time since then working within that field as a painter, builder, designer, teacher, and puppet maker. My husband and I have been married for almost four years and in that time our family has expanded to include a sweet little cocker spaniel and an energetic aussie mix. We're hoping to add some kids to the family as well in the near future. My husband recently finished his degree as a physician assistant and we are excited to see where life takes us.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. I have been taught the principles of the Gospel from a very early age. I feel as though I've always known that Heavenly Father knows and love me. I am so grateful for this. A few times in my life, I've struggled with my faith, but I have managed to return over and over to my Savior. When I allow Him into my heart, He heals me. He grants me forgiveness and peace. I have found that He is the only way to find peace in this life. I have a firm testimony that Jesus Christ is my savior and He cares for me. I also know that He speaks to me through the Book of Mormon and the prophet of His Church. Being a member of this Church helps me know who I am.

How I live my faith

Over the past few months, my husband and I have moved between many different places and feel almost like nomads. As we wait to settle and find a more permanent home, I find great strength in being able to attend a local congregation of Latter-Day Saints and participate in Sunday meetings. It seems that no matter where we go, we can always find people who will welcome us with open arms and share their testimonies of the Gospel with us. This fellowship within the Church along with constant personal prayer and scripture study give me a solid base from which I can strengthen my testimony and relationship with the Lord.

What is being a Mormon like?

Sarah
Being a member of this church brings strength, friendship, direction, and spiritual clarity. The teaching of Jesus Christ are what guide this church. He taught that we must love and serve one another. Wherever you live, you can always find a ward or branch full of people who share your beliefs and will welcome you with love and brotherhood. It's like being part of a huge worldwide family. Even if you live alone, you will always have this group of people to lean on. The Savior also taught that the only way back to our Heavenly Father is through Him. As a member of Christ's restored church, I try to live as He would. It's not easy and I constantly make mistakes, but He has provided a way to overcome these mistakes. Through repentance and rededicating my life to Him, I can always start fresh. The peace that comes through repentance helps me find the strength to keep trying to reach that final goal, which is to be with my Savior and Father in Heaven after this life.
