Hi I'm Stewart

I am a father and a grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading and enjoying the simple things of life. Sometimes, I like to write poetry to help me understand myself and others. Early in life, I learned to love music. I played cello in the school orchestra and sang solos in community and church choirs.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon home. I have always believed that it is important to seek and encourage good things. I believe that God has always been there for me and I trust in His Spirit. I am a Mormon because I can feel His Spirit guide when I believe in Him and in his teachings which I find in His Church.

How I live my faith

My church has helped me to develop a feeling of responsibility for my actions and a foundation to guide my life. As a youth, I was given the opportunity to learn leadership skills and participate in activities to promote spirituality and service to others. From time to time, the church has given me opportunities to teach others the principles of the gospel. I have enjoyed this type of service the most. The principles of the gospel have given me strength to endure difficult times in my life. One of the most difficult times in my life was when, at the age of 23, I suffered from a psychotic episode due to serious mental illness. Understanding and applying gospel principles as well as the grace of God has helped me in my recovery. My difficulties has made me more emphathetic to those who similiarly suffer. I am currently involved in the local NAMI National Alliance on Mental illness. I feel His Spirit when I help others to find hope in dealing with this overwhelming disease.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Stewart
When I talk about His Spirit, I am talking about the Holy Ghost. Mormons believe that those who are baptised and confirmed a member of His Church are given the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Because of this gift those who strive to keep God's commandments can have the Holy Ghost to guide them in their lives. Show more Show less
