Hi I'm Lyn

I love to hike, I love to dig in the dirt, I have 4 kids and 4 dogs. I'm a mormon

About Me

I was raised in the shadows of the Wasatch mountains in SLC, Utah. I am the sixth child of seven and my mother referred to me as "her sunshine after the storm." I loved my life in Utah but I must say that my new home in the south has been a wonderful adventure. My husband & I have loved raising our children here. We are a yours, mine and ours family. I have a son and daughter from my first marriage and a son from my husband's first marriage, and we have one son together. We are currently "empty nesters". Our youngest son is serving a 2 year mission for our church and we have a son in college. Our daughter is grown and living away from home for now. My oldest son is serving a different type of mission in heaven with our Father in Heaven. Sadly, he left this life at a young age by his own hand. They say our trials in this life can define us. I say that our trials in this life can "refine us" with help from our Heavenly Father. I know that through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ my family will be together again. I have a forever family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to goodly parents who were members of the Church. As I grew I prayed to know for myself if this church was truly God's church. Through scripture study and personal prayer I have come to have such a wonderful love for my Father in Heaven and a love for his son Jesus Christ. It fills my soul with joy. I love the scriptures. I read them every day. I feast on the words of Christ and they guide me in my life. I love being a Mormon and hope that the joy it brings to me and my children will be felt by all those I come in contact with. Everyone should know this feeling!

How I live my faith

I love to go hiking in the mountains. When I am up on the side of a ridge I marvel at all of Gods creations! It inspires me and I have to testify of Him. I"ve had the opportunity to teach an early morning bible study class for the youth of our church for seven years. We would meet at 630 a.m. in a member's home and the youth would catch a bus to the high school after class. These young people have an amazing thirst for knowledge! As their teacher I have had to have the spirit help and guide me to teach them, so of course I need to live my life to be worthy to feel this spirit. What a marvelous experience it is to immerse ourselves in the scriptures each morning and learn of Christ. It says in the New testament that Jesus rose up early in the morning because the scripture notes that "all the people came early in the morning to Him in the temple." Luke 2138 KJV What a inspiring way to start your day!
