Hi I'm Kelsey

I have lived all over the United States,I am an identical twin, a Music Therapist, a Mother, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married nine years and I have two children. I have lived all over the US from California to New Jersey, but I really love the east coast. I love to travel, thanks to all of my moving around. I have been to a few other countries, and I hope to see more! I studied music in college, and became a music therapist. Since then I have worked mostly with preschool aged children, and I love it! Music can be very powerful. I spend a lot of time doing music in my home and at church. I am the chorister at church for the primary children, ages 3-11 years. I also love reading, running, being outside, and of course spending time with my family!

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is because of the faith my parents. I was taught about the gospel at a young age. Both of my parents are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so I was able to attend church since I was an infant. My mom started attending church when she was young also. However it was not always easy. Her parents were not supportive of her going when she became a teenager, but she knew of the truthfulness of the gospel, and the joy it could bring to her life. Every Sunday she would bring herself to church, along with all of her sisters, so they could feel the love that our Father in Heaven has for them. I knew if it was that important to her, then it was something I should also take the time to understand. There were many years of my life I wondered if all of these things my parents were teaching me were true. In college I began to read the scriptures more, and take the time to pray. It wasn't until my junior year of college that I really took the time to ask the Lord myself if this gospel was true. After attending years of meetings, and church activities, and early morning seminary, I wanted to know if these feelings were true. After I asked, I had no doubt that the things I had been taught were true. The gospel brings so much joy to my life. Now I can see how it brings joy to my children's lives. For me, just knowing that I can be with my husband and children for eternity gives me the boost I need to everyday to love them with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ is our Savor, and he has a plan for us and I would love for everyone to know that! I have served with many different groups in and out of the church. One of my most impressionable times was serving with the youth. I was able to work with the young women in a congregation in Philadelphia, PA, and these girls dealt with a lot of struggles that I never had to when I was young. A lot of them did not have parental support, which leaves a lot of room for help. I loved taking the time to teach these special young women of the love that God has for them and the love that we as their leaders have for them. In all honesty, they taught me so much from their examples coming to church every week. The youth are our future, and it was great to be able to share with these young women how they could become examples to their families and piers. I currently serve as the chorister with the children at church, I get to sing songs and play fun games, and teach them about the blessings they have been given, all in one! No matter the age it seems like there is a lot of room for finding joy from one another. The Women at church also have many opportunities to serve in the community. We are currently making quilts to donate, and we help serve the elderly at a community center nearby. It is not always easy for me to take care of my two children and remember all of the things I should be doing. Mostly, I live my faith by trying to do what Christ did, and serve those around me who are in need.
