Hi I'm Kevin

I'm the 4th of 8 boys, been married to my high school sweet heart for 12 years, and the father of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As you can see from my picture, I love to fish! I live near Madison, WI so the opportunities to do so are endless. My wife would tell you that fishing is just one of my, "way too many hobbies." I also love to hunt, make jerky, golf, play ping pong, and bowl. I am a Boilermaker! That's right...born and raised 10 minutes from West Lafayette, IN. I graduated from Purdue University in May of 2004...Boiler Up! My wife and I then and moved near Madison, WI in June of the same year so that I could go to work for a midwest trucking company. I am in sales and MOST days I love it. My real passion in life is my wife and kids. I believe family is first and that there is no such thing as quality time without quantity time. It's way too easy to get wrapped up in the comotion of life and forget what's really important.

Why I am a Mormon

Quite simply, because I know its true. I grew up a member of the church so naturally I went to church every Sunday since I was an infant. Although I always believed what I was being taught, I didn't always apply the teachings in my own life. I have 3 older brothers who all served missions for the church when they turned 19, and I soon realized that I was next in line to go. At that point in my life, about 18 years old, I felt a responsibility to continue the tradition and set a good example for my 4 younger brothers. I had a dilima however...I hadn't actually taken the time to find out for myself that the Church and its teachings were actually true. I decided that I would not serve a mission until I had a testimony or a spiritual witness of my own, that it was correct. I took the next several months to prayerfully read and study the Book of Mormon and asked God to let me know if it was true. Not only did I receive an answer that the Book of Mormon was the word of God, I came to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. The only other thing to conclude, was that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church on the earth. I was called to serve in the Nevada, Las Vegas mission. I wish I could tell you that my life has been smooth sailing ever since, but in reality, I have just as many ups and downs as the next guy. You see, converting to the gospel of Jesus Christ, doesn't make all your trails and difficulties go away. It just allows you to experience comfort, peace, and hope while you are going through them. I have found that I am most happy in life when I am actively involved in the church. It's been a real blessing to me. I can't imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

Well, I start my day at 5am. How many sales reps can say that? Why? Because class starts at 6am. I teach a group of LDS High School students the scriptures every morning before they go to school in a class called Seminary. I've found that when I start my day off by focusing on the Savior, everything is better. It's hard to explain, but I know that by our sacrificing our own desires, the Lord is able to give us blessings that he would not otherwise be able to give. I'm gratefull for the opportunity to see the students learn and grow. They inspire me!
