Hi I'm Colton

I grew up in Utah and Arkansas. I will be serving a mission in Cincinnati, Ohio for the next two years of my life.

About Me

I am a college student and I just finished my first semester. I am about to serve a mission for the next two years, and I am so incredibly excited! My father works in the construction field and we moved around for his work quite a bit. I was able to find friends in each of the states we went to. I developed a love for soccer and played that most of my elementary and junior high school career. In high school I didn't really participate in sports, but I did enjoy working. I had three different jobs during high school. I worked at a car wash, which was a good beggining job. I then went and worked for a custom cabinetry shop, and that has been one of my favorite jobs. After that I worked for a small time construction company the last part of my senior year and after graduation. I then went to college at UVU for a semester. I am studying Business and Law, and I hope everything works out When I come back from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, and for most of my childhood and adolescence I just went through the motions. But when I was sixteen years old I decided that I was going to find out for myself if this church is the true church of the restored Gospel. I read the Book of Mormon, and then I prayed and asked God if it is true. I didn't get an astronomical sized revelation, but I felt a peace inside me that words cannot describe. I know that this church is true, I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I would invite any who have questions to find out for yourselves if its true. Read the Book of Mormon and then ask God, in sincerity of heart, if it is not true and I promise that you will receive an answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by obedience. I try to follow the commandments of God and I strive to be an example. I don't do anything that would embarrass my religion or my family. In my actions I am trying to be like Jesus Christ in all that I do and say. I go where the Lord wants me to go. I seek only to bring to pass the Immortality and Eternal Life of Gods children. I talk to everyone I can about the Gospel and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I live my life so that the way I act on Sunday isn't any different than the way I act the rest of the week. I try to invite the Spirit of God into my life through my actions all throughout the week. I strive to read my scriptures and to pray daily. I don't have a fancy way to live my faith, I just try to live my faith in the things I do, think, and say.
