Hi I'm Duane

I'm A Husband, Father,Grandfather, Son, R.N. I am a Mormon

About Me

I like reading, movies, playing with the grand kids, swimming, bicycle riding, bowling... generally anything that my family likes to do I like to do it too.

Why I am a Mormon

In the church I learned of the great love our savior has for us, His plan & purpose for my life, and the eternal nature of our families. Also the gospel of Jesus Christ has shown me the need for and given me the strength to change my life and my heart. I love a saying that I learned in the church The gospel can make bad men good and good men better. I have experienced that change and am living proof of its validity.

How I live my faith

Day by day. I have learned that God truly has started a work in me that He will be faithful to finish, I have learned what that work is and that I have a responsibility to enjoin with my Saviour to help that work along. As I learn the Gospel and live it I must look for ways to share this good news with others. As a missionary leader in my church I have a great opportunity to do just that. I know that I can rely on my Heavenly Father to help me to grow into a son that he can be proud of.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Before I became a member of the church the missionaries teaching me the gospel explained to me that if, in my heart I truly wanted to know if the gospel & The Book of Mormon were true that I could ask God. This I did and the Holy Ghost gave me the answer that they were true. As I continued learning as a member, the Lord thru the Holy Ghost, answered many more questions. God also not only confirmed my belief that Jesus is His Son & my savior, but turned that faith into a sure knowledge, giving me confidence in my choosing to follow Him and in my immortality & eternal life. These are a few basic spiritual parts that began what is my testimony today. In short our testimony is our witness (confirmed by the Holy Ghost) to the world and each other, that God & His son Jesus Christ Live, they Love us and desired that all men come unto Christ, receive the fullness of the Gospel and return to live with them eternally.
