Hi I'm Susan

I am a graduate student, a really good friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a graduate student studying to become a School Psychologist. I love school, music, dancing, and eating ethnic food Especially Thai food. My friends and family are my world! I like reading and regular visits to Disneyland. I served as a missionary in Ukraine and will forever be grateful for that experience!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that happiness comes from living by the principals of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I cannot tell you how many times I have sought to know if this is God's true church on the earth, and received the answer "Yes! it is!" I love the peace, joy, and direction I receive when I keep the commandments. I love how much God has taught me about his plan through the scriptures and through the temple. I know that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that through Jesus Christ I can return to live with my Father in Heaven and with my family some day. I love feeling my Heavenly Father's love as I pray to him. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. We come to know him by reading them. I love this Church because I know it is true!

How I live my faith

The gospel is a huge part of my life. I honestly don't know what I would do without it. Each day I study the scriptures and pray. This gives me spiritual strength. I feel like when I have the spirit I can do anything! When I don't have the spirit I am totally lame. Once each week I go to the temple. This is a special experience. I receive so much strength when i go there and it is also a wonderful opportunity to serve others. On Monday nights I gather with a group of other single college students. We have a lesson about the gospel and then play games. On Tuesdays I attend institute, where we study the scriptures and after have time to socialize. I love my life! It's so happy. Yes, I have hard days, but staying close to the Lord makes it so much easier to get through those hard days and enjoy life! I honestly feel that giving time to the Lord isn't a sacrifice, it's a blessing!

Who was Joseph Smith?

Susan
Joseph Smith was a prophet. As a young boy he sincerely wanted to know what God wanted him to do. He was confused by all of the different beliefs that churches in his area held. He wanted, above all, to do what was right. He prayed to God to know what he should do. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in a vision. They told him that none of the churches had the whole truth. Through Joseph Smith, God restored the whole truth. He showed him were to find an ancient record The Book of Mormon that contained many of the precious truths that had been lost from the Bible. God showed Joseph what to do to restore God's true church on the earth, in these the last days. His life was not easy. He was persecuted and eventually killed because he would not deny what God had given him. I am so grateful for his sacrifice. I have studied his life, studied the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if he was a prophet. I know that he was!   Show more Show less
