Hi I'm Neil

And I am a Latter-day Saint!

About Me

Hello! My name is Neil. I am originally from Central California, and I love life. Currently I live in Rexburg, Idaho with my beautiful wife, Janessa. We are expecting our first little wee one later this year and we very much looking forward to that wonderfully crazy adventure. I am a geology major at BYU-Idaho and am currently working as an intern. I love learning, growing, and becoming through the many experiences that our Father in Heaven has been giving to us. Over the years, I have been shaped into who I am in places where I consider sacred. My heart still lies in many of these places, the first of which is my homeland in California. My heart lies in the farmlands, foothills and mountains of that golden state. The smells, memories, friends and most importantly, my family will remain a part of me forever. My heart lies in the Pacific Islands of Kiribati. It was here I served a mission, learned a language, was made an instrument in His hands, and went through one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. My heart lies in the high deserts of Arizona. There, I truly came to love the Creator and His creations as a TrailWalker at the Anasazi Foundation. I have come to learn of the greatness that lies in all of us as children of God. Finally, my heart lies in this little Idahoan town of Rexburg where I began my eternal family and am embarking on a journey that will last forever. I love my family. I love My God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint is the true church. It is the only church on earth with a fullness of the truth, and it continues to live and breathe through the revelations that come from Jesus Christ to His prophets that lead this Church on the earth. I have received witnesses that transcend any human power of persuasion. My testimony of this church comes not from my parents, my friends, or any of my church leaders. We are all imperfect people, and a witness merely from them could not last. My testimony comes from God through the undeniable power of the Holy Ghost. I know that this all may sound crazy and strange, but I know that anyone who is a sincere seeker of truth can learn that what I believe and have come to know is eternal and correct. They can come to know it just as I have--through the feelings or witnesses that come from God. I invite you to come unto Christ by taking a step of faith and praying for yourself, as I have many times, to know of these things for yourself.

How I live my faith

I strive each day to live my faith by becoming the kind of person that will be comfortable being in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ and God, our Heavenly Father. I pray each day to my Heavenly Father that I might be able to be made an instrument in helping and blessing those around me. I am honest, I work hard, I love people and I have great desires to keep the commandments of God. I have come to truly know that the happiest and most fulfilling life will come to me--and anyone--by keeping His commandments. I live my faith by being who I am, developing my strengths, and striving to become who the Lord wants me to be.
