Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a certified Birth & Bereavement Doula, a mother of three, I love video games, Netflix, and fantasy books, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Texan girl living in Utah with my husband. I have four brothers and one sister, so I grew up playing video games. I'm received my undergrad in Nutritional Science with a minor in Music, and have since become certified as an SBD Birth & Bereavement Doula. One day I would also like to be certified as a lactation consultant. I love music, and in school I have played the French horn in marching band, concert band, orchestra, and even in an opera. I would love to teach French horn lessons from my home. I have all kinds of interests that range from music to math, from psychology to computers, and many more. I love to hang out with friends and watch movies or play games - video games, board games, card games, basically any kind of game. Even more than hanging out with friends, I love to spend time with my family. I lost my first pregnancy to stillbirth, but I know my little Matthew will always be a part of our family. I am also a mother to boy/girl twins, who fill my life with love and silliness amidst the exhaustion.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the happiness that my faith brings to my life. I grew up in the Church, but I am a Mormon today because I know that it's true, not because that's just what I was taught growing up. Everyone has to find out for themselves what's true, and I know because I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about it, and I can feel that it's true. It's a feeling that's hard to describe. But even though I have rough times in my life, as everyone does, I am happier because of what I know, and because of the love of my Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day in little ways. It has become a part of who I am. I live my faith by attending and participating in church services. I find opportunities to do small acts of kindness. I am open about what I believe about the Church, and how I feel about my Savior. And I try each day to correct mistakes, to better myself, and to come just a little bit closer to Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. We believe with all our hearts that Jesus Christ is our Savior. That He suffered for us so that if we repent and follow His commandments, we can be cleansed from our sins. That He gave His life on the cross and was resurrected on the third day so that we, too, will live again. Without Jesus Christ, nothing matters. With Jesus Christ, everything has been made possible. How can I know Mormonism is true?

The best way to know for yourself if Mormonism is true is to read the Book of Mormon, ponder its message in your heart, and pray with sincere desire - really wanting to know - and real intent - being willing to act on the answer that you receive. If you know that the Book of Mormon is true, then you know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that God continues to call prophets today to guide His children, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true church. We want everyone to put it to the test and find out for themselves. Show more Show less
