Hi I'm Amy

I Love to dance and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from California. Born and raised. I love to dance...all kinds. I know a little of Swing, Salsa, Hawaiian, and Line dancing. I am best at Salsa. I have two half sisters, one half brother, and a brother. My brother served a mission for the church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I served a mission in Boise, Idaho and it was amazing! I learned so much myself as well as got to teach other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. But everyone has to gain a personal testimony. The introduction to the Book of Mormon and in Moroni the last book in the Book of Mormon invites you to pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ if the book is true or not. Then you can gain that personal witness from the Holy Ghost that the book is true. If the book is true then Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and everything else falls into place as well. I was about 19 years old when I gained my personal testimony. I started going to church on my own in a different ward without my parents. I had always had a feeling that the church was true and there wasn't a doubt in my mind that I should keep going to church. It felt right...it was like home. But I didn't have that KNOWING that the church was true. After I had gone to church on my own, read from the Book of Mormon, and prayed about it...I had no doubt in my mind that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. It is His church that he set up when he was on the earth that has been restored by the prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I am currently one of the ward missionaries in my ward. I help the full time missionaries that are serving in our area as well as welcome new people that come to our ward weather they are members of the church or not.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

The word cult usually means that it is a secretive organization of some sort. I believe most people get that idea because the everyday public is not able to enter our Temples. Our Temples are not secret but they are sacred. We want everyone to go to the Temple but there are certain requirements. You must prepare yourself spiritually to enter the Temple. Written on the outside of our Temples is written "house of the Lord". We believe that wholeheartedly. It is His house and where he can dwell. The closest you can be to our Heavenly Father is in the Temple. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

If you read the story in the Bible about Jesus Christ being baptized it shows that Jesus Christ sought out John the baptist. Jesus walked approximately 30 miles to John. Jesus could have met some nice person along the way and easily could have been baptized then but he chose to seek out John specifically because he had that Authority to baptize which is called the Priesthood authority.
