Hi I'm Brittany Cox

I love microbiology and my family. I'm an American girl headed to share the Gospel in the Philippines! I'm a Mormon missionary.

About Me

Hey, I'm Sister Cox! I studied microbiology at Brigham Young University -Idaho and graduated in July, 2011! I grew up moving around a lot because my father is in the United States Air Force. I love to be behind the camera, capturing the beauty God has created, including people! I am a pretty easy going person and I love adventure! I love getting to know new people and to learn about different cultures and ways of life. I have been called to labor in the Philippines Cebu mission, speaking Cebuano, and I am currently in the Provo MTC. I could not be more excited to serve the Lord and the wonderful Filipino people!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my father was inactive in the Mormon church and my mom was not a member. A few years later my brother was born, and I started asking questions about Jesus. My mom, having never really been a part of organized religion, didn't know how to answer my questions. She told my dad she felt they needed to be teaching their children about Jesus and my dad refused to go to any other church except for the Mormon church. He did this because, even after years of inactivity, he still knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the only complete gospel on the Earth today. My family was taught by the missionaries and after much prayer my mom was baptized and a year later so was I. It is because of the faith of my father and the willingness of my mother that I became a Mormon. But, it is through my belief in and knowledge of Christ's true gospel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The biggest chunk of how I live my faith is by following the example Christ has laid out for us. He showed us what it meant to be kind, generous and caring. Everyday I strive to live my faith by following my Savior. I try and do the things He would do if He were here. Living the teachings of Christ dwells mainly in the little, daily things, the small obediences. I keep the covenants, or promises I have made with God.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Brittany Cox
The young, 18-19 year old missionaries voluntarily sacrifice 18 to 24 months of their youth to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Most missionaries save up their own money during high school to help fund their mission with the help of their families. Also, other member of the Church can willingly donate money to help fund the worldwise missionary service. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Brittany Cox
The missionaries will talk about Jesus Christ, His Atonement and His gospel. They will share our Heavenly Fathers plan of salvation and happiness that allowed us, His children, the opportunity to live with Him again. They will also be able to answer any questions or concerns you might have about the Gospel or just about life in general. Show more Show less
