Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a Midwest farm girl who's since moved all over the U.S. with my husband & 2 boys. Moving's easy, since I'm Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Wisconsin as the only member of the LDS church in my high school. Somehow I was able to stay out of trouble, by still having good friends at school, and great people at church who kept me strong. I moved out West for college, where I gained an even stronger testimony of the truth of the Gospel, by being on my own and having to apply it all to real life. Now I'm a stay home mom of two toddler boys, with a wonderful, hard-working husband. We've moved to several different U.S. states with my husband's job, which has been quite an adventure. It's always hard to leave people, but having the church everywhere we go makes things so easy. We've always had instant friends, and become part of the community quickly. I love spending my life raising my own kids and working on my own hobbies. Our life feels very balanced and peaceful. It was kind of hard to give up my career dreams to be a mom full time, but I know God wants me raising my own children, and that there'll still be plenty of time for me to pursue other world interests after they're grown. Life is really, really good right now!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined this church when my older brothers were young, right before I was born. I was raised in the church. It always made sense to me, and I always got answers to my eternal questions. Since I was the only Mormon kid in my school system, it was really easy to see the difference between how life was going for me, versus how life was going for many friends not of any faith. All their problems seemed to come from something I knew God asked us not to do, like alcohol, smoking, fornication... While of course no one can be perfect, I knew that people clinging to these good high morals and trying to stay close to God were having much happier, easier, more successful lives. I knew it was the real deal. Since maturing in the Gospel, I've had multiple intense spiritual experiences that have proven to me without a doubt that God lives and is guiding my life, approving of the choices I make.

How I live my faith

I feel like because of my faith, I truly view each person as a child of God who's important & deserves respect. I like being friends with everyone. I enjoy helping serve in our local church by currently teaching the 9 year old Sunday School class. I also volunteer whenever possible for helping those who are ill or need anything. It feels good to have ways to serve others put right in front of me.
