Hi I'm Eddy

I'm Venezuelan, I love baseball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was Born in Venezuela but came to the U.S. when I was four years old with my family. I grew up in Utah. I love to draw and do most forms of art. I love baseball. I hope to go to college after I finish a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I wanted to find out if God really existed and if he truly established a church on the earth. I thought that if any of the churches were true, it could only be one. I thought of all the things I had learned throughout all of my life. Any doctrine that I had heard. I thought about facts, but then I realized that facts weren't going to be enough. I needed an answer from God himself. My parents always taught me about prayer and receiving answers, so I decided to try it. I didn't know what to expect, and I admit that at first I was a little doubtful. So, it took me a while. I felt that maybe I wasn't worthy, because of all people why would I receive an answer, I made mistakes all the time. I felt bad, I felt hopeless because I didn't know if I could ever be forgiven, if I could ever change the way I lived. But, putting aside my doubts and my fears, and putting my trust in God, I kept trying. I recognized that I had need for Him and needed change, I needed strength beyond my own. As I decided to make that change and desired God's love, I asked if this church was the true church on the earth. Then, I felt something that I had never felt before. It wasn't a strong feeling. It was soft like a whisper. A very loving and very real feeling. I knew it was true and that filled me with joy. I know this church is true! I know that my Heavenly Father lives and answers our prayers. I know that this is Christ's true church on this earth because I've received a personal witness through the Holy Ghost. Throughout my life it has been confirmed to over and over again. The true gospel of Christ gives me purpose in life and a sense of direction. Knowing I'm a child of God helps me know who I am and what I can become. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ our sins may be forgiven if we truly repent. I also know Jesus Christ restored his church through His prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon is also the word of God.

How I live my faith

I try to keep the commandments. I try to follow our past and modern day prophets' teachings. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying to become better every day. I try to learn as much as I can. I always try to fulfill my responsibilities within the church and enjoy doing them. I have been a youth leader and have been a missionary. I have always enjoyed participating in the Lord's work and will always do my best to help. I study the scriptures because I love learning from them. That's how we learn what Heavenly Father has in store for us and what He expects from us. We learn what we should be doing and what things we should avoid. It took me a while to get used to reading scriptures, but it has become something that strengthens me every day, and my days just aren't the same without them.
