Hi I'm Laura

I am a registered nurse and a wife, but most importantly I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three children. I was born in Washington, but shortly after my eighth birthday my family moved to Utah. At first it was really hard for me to adjust, but now I love Utah and I would love to move back! I love being active! My favorite sports are volleyball and swimming. I also enjoy running and hiking on occasion. My husband keeps trying to teach me how to play basketball, but I'm not very good at it yet. I had the opportunity to attend college at Brigham Young University- Idaho. While attending school there I was admitted into the nursing program and earned my associates degree in nursing. I love being able to help people around me! Right now I am finishing my bachelors degree of nursing through online courses. I feel very blessed that I can complete my degree even though I am not currently on campus. While attending BYU-Idaho I met my wonderful husband. We have been married for almost two years now! I love being married to my best friend! We do not have any children, but we are excited for the opportunity to have a family of our own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life! It brings me peace and hope every day. One of my greatest blessings of being a member of this church is that I can be with my family for all of eternity. We believe that a man and a woman can be sealed together for time and for all eternity in the holy temple. One must be worthy to enter the temple and receive this blessing. Growing up I always tried to make right choices that would keep me worthy of this special blessing. I am so thankful that I was able to be sealed in the temple to my sweet husband. I am so grateful to know that if my husband and I live worthy lives, we will never be separated by death. It is also a blessing to me to know that as children come into our family they can also be with us eternally. I also am blessed to know that we have a living prophet on this earth. He is the Lord's mouthpiece in these latter days. I know that we will never go astray if we listen to his words.

How I live my faith

Every day I pray that I can be an example to those around me of what I believe. Although I may not verbally tell people what religion I belong to, I try to live my life in a way that others around me know I am a good person and that I believe in God and Jesus Christ. Right now I have the opportunity to serve the young women in our ward. I love them so much! They are such sweet daughters of our Heavenly Father. I especially want to be an example to them. I want them to know that I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I also try to read my scriptures every day, especially the Book of Mormon. I feel the Spirit as I study the words of the prophets. This helps me understand the gospel better and strengthens my testimony of the Savior. I also try to study the words of our current prophet and apostles. Some day when I have children of my own I want to be able to teach them the gospel. I try to study now so I will be prepared in the future to teach my family.
