Hi I'm Mark.

I'm a Mormon. I'm a father of 5 and a grandfather of 2. Raised in the midwest, I'm a 5th gen. member of the LDS Church.

About Me

After graduating from Brigham Young University, my professional career has given my family and me the opportunity to live in twelve different states. This has allowed us to have and benefit from experiences with people of varied cultures, economic standings, and religions. The two constants during these many moves have been our strong family bonds and our connection with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As we settled into each community, we knew we had a ready set of friends who believed and worshiped as we did. This then gave us additional confidence to extend our friendships to others not of our faith at school, at work, and in our neighborhood.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by faithful parents, I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ from a very early age. When I was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands at the age of 8, I quickly learned the value of keeping God's commandments. My own experiences in life taught me both the importance of obedience and of the blessings of true repentance when I fall short of keeping my commitments to God. As I grew older, I became more capable in understanding the truthfulness of the holy scriptures. This allowed me to more confidently express my personal knowledge to others that God is real and that He blesses those who honor and obey Him. It also allowed me bear a personal testimony of the saving grace of the atoning sacrifice of the Savior Jesus Christ. I freely acknowledge His love for me as evidenced by the fact that He answers my prayers and He continues to guide His children on the earth by revelation through a living prophet. My desire is to love Him in return by keeping His commandments and by serving both my family and my neighbors for the remainder of my life.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, my commitment to God is to live my faith 24x7. That means to keep the promises I made to God when I was baptized - to remember His Son, Jesus Christ, always and to keep his commandments. This includes loving and leading my family in righteousness - to the best of my ability. It also involves my willingness to freely serve in a variety positions in our local congregation. Over the years, I have served as a teacher, a choir director, a leader in the young men's program, as an auxiliary secretary, and as a bishop (presiding officer) of a congregation. Our congregations also participates in serving others in our community and in helping those in need. The blessings that have come to both my family and me for our dedicated service to others have been immeasurable.
