Hi I'm Al

I'm a Mormon. And I absolutely love it!!

About Me

I love the outdoors! I enjoy any opportunity to spend time out in the mountains, and enjoying our Heavenly Father's creations! I do hiking, backpacking, fishing, horse back riding, work, anything to keep me busy. I have been thoroughly involved in music, especially the trombone. Music I have found to be a wonderful way to worship our Heavenly Father, and really bring in the spirit!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. I enjoy being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have found the support I need to get through hard times, and the joy that comes from the Gospel. I want to share this joy with everybody! As I've gone through life, especially during my teenage years, I have gone through some difficult times, some were a result of my choices, some were not. I know life is tough, but when I turned my heart towards the Lord, I received much comfort. I know that it is through Jesus Christ and His Atonement, that we can be saved from sin and death, and also help make our burdens seem light when we are going through difficult trials.

How I live my faith

Serving has always been a great way to show my faith. As I have served others in the past, and now beginning to serve others by being a missionary, and teaching them the gospel, and helping them live it, I have received much joy! I encourage everyone to just start doing small little selfless acts everday, and small things will add up! Also, I have really enjoyed reading the scriptures, especially The Book of Mormon. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple, that even a child can fully understand it. I love my Savior with all my heart. I try my best to keep his commandments, even though I fail at times. When I do fail, I go to my Father in Heaven, and ask for forgiveness, and Jesus Christ's Atonement allows for me to be forgiven.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I absolutely love increasing my faith in Christ! There are so many ways to increase our faith, but reading the scriptures and praying are some really good ways to be increasing our faith. Especially reading The Book of Mormon. I have found so many answers from this book, and it has changed my life for the better. I would greatly urge anybody and everybody to read it. Not only read it, but to apply the teachings that are in it. We are promised that "a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." Introduction to the Book of Mormon This is true. I know it to be so. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

The reason we baptize those that have joined then church is for one it is a commandment given from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Christ said that you must be baptized in order to "enter the kingdom of God." Our Heavenly Father wants all of his Children to return unto him. That is why we have missionaries that are willing to give a couple years of their lives to spread the Gospel, because we understand the importance of baptism, and we want everybody to make it back to our Heavenly Father. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is the ultimate sacrifice that Christ was willing to make. He suffered ALL of our pains and sorrows. Took upon us the guilt of our sins. Made it possible to become clean so we can dwell in the presence of our Heavenly Father. I know the Atonement is real. I have had many spiritual bumps and bruises, and will continue to get them as I live my life. I'm trying my absolute best to keep the commandments, but sometimes I mess up. However, through repentance, I can become clean again. Not only can we become clean from sin, but we can turn to Christ, and receive help ANY TIME!!! Life gets tough, but I know that if I remain faithful, and pray always, especially in times of need, He is there. He always has been. He always will be. I am so thankful for the pure love that our Savior has for us. That He loves us enough to give his own life for the sake of everysingle one of us as individuals. He did it ALL for us. Never has someone suffered so much pain. Nobody has the capacity to take on such a task except for Him. I am truly grateful for the Atonement that Jesus Christ has provided for us. Show more Show less
