Hi I'm Kammie

I 'm married to my sweetheart, am a mom to 4 wonderful children, enjoy Aromatherapy and Herbs, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend and a mom to 4 beautiful children. I am an Aromatherapist and an Herbalist. I own my own business, importing essential oils and herbs from countries, all over the world, where I package, bottle, and label them, to be sent out to retail suppliers throughout the United States. I enjoy hiking, and finding different plant species to learn about. I love to teach others about the plants and all that they give to us. I enjoy the freedom of owning my own company, so that I can focus on my family and church responsibilities. This allows me to play mom whenever I am needed, and reap the rewards of all the talents my children have to offer. I take advantage of dating my sweetheart, each Friday night. Through this, I am reminded why I desired to marry him and I fall in love with him, even deeper each time. I am who I am because of the encouragement of my husband and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, first and foremost, because I know it is Jesus Christ's church. I gained this truth many years ago, after reading the Book of Mormon. I prayed to Heavenly Father to know if the Mormon gospel teachings and the Book of Mormon were true, and I received a powerful witness that I felt throughout my entire body, that I can't deny. I know that Jesus Christ is my elder brother and that He sacrificed His life for me, so that I can have the opportunity to live with Him and my Heavenly Father someday. I know that I can receive personal revelation to help me get through my trials and I know that through my trials, I will learn and become a stronger person. I know that families can be Eternal, and I look forward to being with my Eternal Companion forever. I know the Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day Saints teaches true doctrine and my hope is for ALL to KNOW of that truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by first, speaking to my Heavenly Father, each day, through prayer and by having personal scripture study. My family and I also read the scriptures and pray together, each day. I strive to attend my church meetings, including Sacrament each week, and help serve in the temple and community as often as possible. As I am called to serve in various positions, in my ward, I do my best to fulfill them and learn as much as I can in them. I know I am not perfect in all that I do, but I try to move forward with each day. Doing these things, I know, will help me stay close to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ, of which I know I need in these latter days.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is a Women's Organization that was organized by the Prophet Joseph Smith, in March of 1842, to provide Relief for the poor and to look after the spiritual welfare of all. Being a part of the Relief Society gives me the opportunity to teach and serve with all of the Women, with in my area, and come closer to Christ, while strengthening our families. With the help of my fellow sisters, we all provide charity through welfare and compassionate service, not only for ourselves, but for the community. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Mormon Church is the same as being a servent to Jesus Christ Himself. I am a member of His church, The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. When Jesus Christ was alive, He established His church, as a church of order. We are organized according to the order of our Heavenly Father. Because of this organization, I know it to be the same wherever I go. So I know that I will always have the same, organized, church even if I move to another state or even to another country.  Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

The Mormon Church's "Law of Health" is also called the "Word of Wisdom", as found in the 89th section of the Doctrine and Covenants. We are asked to abstain from alcohol and "Hot drinks". We are further advised against the use of any beverage that contains ingredients that would be harmful to the body. If we follow the counsel of the Word of Wisdom, we are promised Physical health, Wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, The ability to run and not be weary and walk and not faint, and Protection from the destroying angel. It's important to add that these promises are for eternity, and those who do not receive all the promised blessings in this life will receive them hereafter. The alcohol is self explanatory, as it is very addicting and can cause numerous health problems, including liver failure. But as an Herbalist, I wanted to do further research of my own about coffee and especially tea. The "hot drinks" of the time this revelation was recieved, were both Coffee and Tea. The Tea, being from the "Tea Plant" or Camellia sinensis. Both drinks stimulate the body and cause a warming effect. Coffee is not only addicting, but has a high concentration of Tannic acids that are very harmful to the body. Tannic acid is known to block iron absorption and inhibit the absorbtion of calcium and the B vitamins. It can cause heart burn, indigestion, and acid reflux, which in turn cause Ulcers. It can cause intestinal damage, stain teeth, and it interacts with a wide range of medications, reducing their effectiveness. It does not matter whether the coffee is caffeinated or decaffeinated, although caffeine has its own harmful effects. The Tea, from the Tea plant also is addicting and has Tannic Acids in it. Its Latin name is Camellia sinensis and is the same plant that Green tea, Black tea, White tea, Jasmine tea, etc. come from, only processed differently. The "Tea" name has been used improperly for decades, as it is used to describe a form of plant and water. The name "Tea" belongs only to the "Tea Plant", while other Herbal drinks, or the plant and water, are called "Infusions" or "Decoctions". Of course while a Peppermint Infusion would be healthy to drink, one would not drink a Daffodil Narcissus genus Infusion, because the bulbs are poisonous and cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea or can be fatal. A Study of any plant should be given and understood before it is put into the body. For we are also told in the Word of Wisdom that all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man. I don't look at the Word of Wisdom as a list of what I can and cannot eat or drink. I look at it as a recipe for a good diet. As I have come to understand the benifits of abstaining from Alcohol, Coffee, Tea, and Tobacco.... and taking into my body Fruits, Herbs, Vegetables, Grains, and little meat....I have also come to enjoy a healthy life.
