Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Michigan I'm a Viet Nam Vet. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father and grandfather. I enjoy playing golf , woodworking and riding motorcycles. I've enjoyed 44 years of marriage to my lovely eternal companion. My career has been in telecommunications working as a Technician and Technical Instructor. While my job has provided for my family my real satisfaction comes from working with young people. I have spent many years working with Young men in Boys Scouts and coaching Youth Soccer. As the years tick by I find I enjoy more simple things in life, such as just getting in the car with my lovely wife and going for a ride in the north Georgia mountains and enjoying what the Lord has created.

Why I am a Mormon

I first learned about the Mormon Church when I met my wife. She was a new member and I was Catholic. I had just returned from Viet Nam. We had known each other in Junior High and High School, she wasn't very interested in me then. We started dating and we were soon married, I guess she changed her mind about me. It was not until after we were married that we really started talking about relegion. I thought the story of Joseph Smith and the first vision were interesting but I had my doubts. It took a few years and being associated with some great men that would come to vist before I started getting the feeling that there was something to this. I started reading the Book of Mormon and came to realize that what I was reading was true. I also realized that this Church was lead by a Prophet. I was soon baptized and have spent many years enjoying giving service to others and to God.

How I live my faith

I try live my faith daily by being honest and trying to be an example to my children and grandchildren. also through fulfilling assignments that I have been given. Most of my time I have been fortunate to work with the young men in the Church. Working in the area of scouting. It has been my pleasure to watch the young men grow and advance in Scouting and in there church callings also watching them grow in the Gospel and go out and serve missions.
