Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and raised under the California Sun. I'm a country boy. I'm serving a mission in the potato state. And I'm an Mormon.

About Me

I am 19. Im form wonderful place called Elk Grove, California! I have lived there most of my life. A little about myself. I'm a Korean. I am very proud of my Korean heritage. I love bulgogi, kimchi, and seaweed. Korean food is the best!!! Lets see here. I have been a convert of the Church for about 8 years now. I am currently a full-time missionary for the Church in Idaho. Before leaving on my mission I worked on a ranch. I helped load trucks with hay and alfalfa at the ranch. Bucking hay is the best there is. There aint nothing like it. I also took care of the cattle. They had around 250 head of cattle. I loved every minute working out there. In high school, I was in the band. I played Trombone and the Tuba. I love music. I always have a song in my heart and I'm always humming a tune. Playing with a full concert band is really amazing. I Love it. I also played football for a year. Just to give it a try. I was always large is stature and people always asked me if I played football. So I finally signed up to play. I was a Def. Tackle. Of course everyone on the team already. They have been playing for 6 years. So I got creamed at practices. But I really enjoyed playing. When I get back from my mission. I'm planing on going to college to major in Vet Science. When I finish all of my schooling. I want to be able to work at Zoos and work with tigers and pandas!!!.. =)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because two 19 to 21 year old men taught me about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was 12 at the time and they told me that there was a young man by the name of Joseph Smith. They said that when he was at the age of 14, he wanted to know which of the churches he should go to. They said that he went into a grove of trees and prayed to God to know which of these churches were true. Then one of them told me about the vision that Joseph had. He saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. And Christ told him what he should do. A warm feeling came into my heart. They gave me a Book of Mormon. They gave me a challenge to read from the Book of Mormon and to pray to Heavenly Father to know that if this book was true scripture and that if Joseph Smith saw the God the Father and Jesus Christ. And I did. I know, for myself, that Joseph Smith saw a vision and that the Book of Mormon was true. Later, I found out I needed to be baptized. To follow the example of Jesus Christ, when He was baptized by John the Baptist. I was baptized in 2004. I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I knew that this decision would change my life for the better. I don't know where I would be without the church in my life. That the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. That there is a prophet on the earth today. If you are questioning go to James 1:5. Ask of God... That is what Joseph Smith did. And he got his answer. That's what I did. You can too. =)

How I live my faith

I try to be as Christlike as possable. I am friendly to everyone. I offer service to the people I meet. Christ healed the sick, helped the lame walk, and let the blind see. I know I can't preform miricles like that so I so people the atributes he had. Charity, Hope, Diligence, Obedience, Faith, Humility, Patience, Knowlegde, and Love. These are all thing that I have been trying to focus on since I became a member of the church. People always ask me why Mormons are always happy. And i always tell them because we try not to focus our lives on the bad things in life and we are alway willing to help others. And helping others always makes us have a good feeling inside. I always love looking back to the Book of John in the Bible. And in that book Christ does these amazing things and one thing he says that i always love to read is '" Love one Another." We all are brothers and sisters of our Heavenly Father. We should love one another and help eachother when someone is in need.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a commandment that was given as revelation to Joseph Smith. The Word of Wisdom says for us not to drink alcohol, tea, and coffee. Or to smoke, or chew tobacco. Or to take in Illegal drugs. Its a commandment of God. And it keeps us healthy. If a Scientist came to your door and gave you the most technologically advanced machine known to man. And all you have to do is just take care of it, keep it clean and give it the right things that it needs. You would do those things right. Its the same thing with our body's. Heavenly Father gave us the most advanced machine in the world. And all we need to do it to keep it going. Eat the right foods. Don't drink these things. Don't smoke these things. I know that the Word of Wisdom is a commandment to keep us all healthy and strong. Show more Show less
