Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a scholar. I'm an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a PhD student in electrical engineering. I am married and have 2 children - a 3-year old son and an infant girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. From an early age, I learned of Jesus Christ and his atonement. As a young child, I remember reading the Book of Mormon with my family. One day, I decided to pray about it. I felt the Spirit of the Lord confirm that the book was true. I ran to my mother to tell her the news. Since then, I have learned much more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ promise to be active participants in living the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are commanded to serve our neighbors so that we may learn to love people the way Jesus loves us all. I have discovered that, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, I have become more like the Master. I love people more deeply. I have more courage. I am guided by principles of honesty, morality, and faith. My meager sacrifices have been accepted by my Heavenly Father and He has given me blessings beyond measure in all aspects of my life. One other reason that I am a Mormon is that I know that my Heavenly Father will guide me and direct me in my life. When I have a question, I can turn to Him and I know he will guide me.

How I live my faith

My faith is integral to every part of my life. I am a father and a provider for my family. I actively fill responsibilities in my local congregation. But the expressions of my faith are how I live my life every day. Prayer, reading the scriptures, being honest, being clean, being industrious, being charitable. Though I am not perfect in my faith, I work to be better every day and I know, though the grace of my Savior, someday I can be made perfect and clean so I can be with my Heavenly Father again.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Nathan
The teachings of Jesus Christ teach the principles of how to establish and maintain healthy relationships. Christ taught the importance of forgiveness and repentance, how to be compassionate, and how to serve others. He gave us the perfect example of how to love. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I understand that my family relationships can last beyond death. Families can be sealed together eternally, so as long as I follow Christ, my wife and my children can be with me forever. This encourages me to work hard to establish good relationships with my family in this life. Show more Show less
