Hi I'm Ryan Bradbury

I grew up in Idaho. I love to kayak and snowboard. I'm a cancer survivor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm number 6 of 7 children. I'm the youngest of the 4 boys. At age 8, I found out I had Luekemia(ALL). 4 years later after Chemotherapy and lots of family stresses I was declared "Cancer Free". Now, years later, I've moved on with life and enjoy great health. I love being outdoors and experiencing nature. There are few places I feel closer to God than when I'm outdoors, in the mountains, on the river or wherever. Those other places are home with my family, at church, and in the temple. Kayaking is something I can't get enough of. I've been a river guide and loved working with groups to help them push their limits. In the winter season I love to snowboard. I'm currently serving a two year service mission for the Church. I love to serve. Helping other people find happiness is the most rewarding thing I've found yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church but I can't say I honestly believed in it until I took the time and made the effort to find out if it is what it claims to be, that is, the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I studied the Book of Mormon. I spent a lot of nights wandering the streets in my little town late at night thinking about what all this would mean to me. I started praying every night before going to bed. I tried to pray every morning but, I admit, I often forgot. Still I know God recognized my desires and efforts to get answers from Him. As I did all these things, with a determination that I would act on whatever truth I found, I felt more peace in my life than ever before. I wasn't so tense or stressed about the little mishaps in life. I began to feel greater love for my family and friends. With diligence I recognized these things as evidence of the Holy Ghost telling me what was true. I didn't learn everything all at once, but over time I've learned that this is the Lord's church restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I love to smile. God intends for us to be happy. I live my faith by being happy and grateful for all the wonderful things God has given us. I love, respect, and care for those around me. It's easy to open a door for a person at the grocery store. It's natural to invite a friend to come do something with you, even if it's just a little thing like shopping or making dinner. These little things add up and ultimately lift everyone around you. Being a good Samaritan doesn't always have to be about saving someone's life. Often it just has to do with giving someone a reason to smile:)
