Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a violinist, a teacher, a wife, and a Mormon.

About Me

I have a lot of things I claim to love... symphony rehearsal, aprons, chocolate, and reading a good book, but none of them hold a candle to the gospel of Jesus Christ and my family! I've played the violin for 12 years and I have been teaching private violin lessons for around 3 years on and off. I absolutely love it! It brings me a lot of joy and happiness to see students learn and grow by playing an instrument! I can hardly wait to start a family with my husband and see what wild adventures that brings into our lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Latter-Day Saint and my family tried hard to teach me the difference between right and wrong. But of course, there came a day when I had to decide for myself. Was the gospel true or was it all a fabricated lie? I'm here to tell you that I know for a fact that it IS true. Jesus Christ came to earth and paid for our sins. He experienced all of our sorrows and pains. He knows how to succor us if we but only turn to him. He has provided us with the way to return to live with him again... FOREVER! Now that's worth sitting up and taking notice of, if you ask me. When I had to decide for myself if I was going to stand by the principles and doctrines of the Church, I realized that I was full of 'belief'. I believed that Jesus was the Christ. I believed in the divinity of The Book of Mormon. I believed in the power of the Atonement, and I believed in the Word of Wisdom. But believing wasn't enough. Relying on my parents' testimonies wasn't enough. I had to know for myself. So I did some digging. I did some soul searching. And do you know what I found? I found a desire to learn more. I found a love for the Godhead and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that transcended what I thought was possible. I know that Heavenly Father has again restored His church on the earth in these latter days through the Prophet Joseph Smith. He has since called a Prophet to lead His people during every dispensation, and there is no doubt in my mind that Thomas S. Monson is His mouthpiece today. The Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ as sure as I exist, and it is literally the word of God. So much of the happiness I have experienced in my life is a direct result of trying to live the principles found in that book and the Holy Bible. I bear fervent testimony to you that Heavenly Father and His perfect son, Jesus Christ love each and every one of us. And though life is far from peachy sometimes, I know that They want us to be happy. The ordinances we receive as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are essential stepping stones on the path to exaltation in the presence of our Father. These things I know.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the First Counselor in the Relief Society. I work hard at helping other sisters in the ward feel welcome at church, complete genuine Visiting Teaching, serve others in the ward and neighborhood, grow closer to God our Father, and create eternal families. Some of the greatest moments in my life have been spent serving in this calling, and even though it is time and energy consuming, I wouldn't trade it for anything! It never ceases to amaze me how much we can learn from each other if we're only willing to listen. I am honored to be among the ranks of the women of this Church!
