Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up in Utah. I love to play raquetball and watching movies is a hobby of mine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Jeff. I grew up in Utah and have been a Mormon my whole life. Some people may think that because I was raised Mormon that everything came easy for me, but I had to work for everything that I have now. I love to play raquetball and run. I've played the piano for a long time and it's great to share that with everybody that I meet. I'm studying to be a meterologist. I love life and try to enjoy every minute of it.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormons and so I was raised in the Mormon faith. I had good influences all around me but I still had to find a testimony for myself just like everybody else. When I was 14 and I started religion classes, I started to really read the Book of Mormon to know if it was true. My answer didn't come all at once but very gradually over time. I didn't have any grand vision or overwhelming experiences, but over time I had a feeling in my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. The Book of Mormon has helped me in times that I am down or am struggling and it is truly from God. I choose to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know the joy that it can bring to the lives of others. When something comes up that forces me to choose between the principles of the Mormon Church or something that goes against these principles, I always choose the church. The Lord always blesses me in following his commandments and I know that the more I trust in His ways, the more happiness and peace and comfort and succes I will have.

How I live my faith

I feel the best way that I can live my faith is by being an example to everybody around me. I don't need to put on a show or be overbearing but quietly live what I believe. Right now I am sharing my faith with the world as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Showing kindness to everybody I meet shows people that I really do love Jesus Christ and I try to emulate him in everything I do. When I am sincere in what I do and what I teach, it shows everybody around me that I love my church and hopefully inspires them to ask questions and study my religion.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The Mormon missionaries main role is to help people to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Usually the missionaries will come into your home and find out what you believe in and teach from there. They teach that there is a Father in Heaven that loves each and every one of us. They teach about a Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and why a restoration was even needed. They teach about Joseph Smith and how he was called to be a prophet of God just like Moses. They teach about the plan the God has for us and how we can live again. They describe what is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ actually is and how it can help you in your life. The missionaries just want to help you have a better relationship with your Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. They will do it in a loving, kind way and will help you draw closer to Christ.
