Hi I'm Taylor.

I'm a math tutor from Canada, I spend my free time climbing rocks and devouring books, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a university Engineering student, who loves to spend free time between classes playing foosball, and climbing at my local rock wall. I grew up climbing trees, the furniture, anything I could find, and I feel a freedom and challenge from it that I don't get anywhere else. I love reading, and learning, because I find it helps me to better understand and relate to everyone around me. I dream of how to make things better, be that my country, new condo complexes, or making rush hour less stressful. I love solving problems and being challenged, but nothing else more than time with my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of individual answers to my prayers. I grew up looking at the night sky, which is so beautiful, and feeling a wonder for what was around me. I saw the leaves change colour every autumn, and slowly I saw changes that happened inside of me. I found that as I trusted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, and applied them to me and my life, that I was happy. I've prayed, on multiple occasions, to know God, to know who He is, and He has been there for me answering every time I get down on my knees. I've gained a personal conviction that He loves me, and all His children, and wants to help and bless us. I see that in the example of Jesus Christ in His life, and in the examples of those He has chosen to be here for me today. I'm a Mormon because I know who I am, I know who's watching over me, and I know He answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

My faith affects pretty much everything that I do. It's like after you know how gravity works, you always make choices knowing that everything falls to the ground. I try to help others with the talents and abilities I've been given. I tutor students who need help in math or science, I go play games with patients at a local health-care facility, I teach a volunteer english class every week, and I've shoveled your driveway. Currently I've got the chance to be helping people full-time as a misisonary, talking with them about the most important things in my life, and potentially theirs. I rake leaves, I mow lawns, I mop floors, and I wash dishes for anyone in need (dishes are my specialty). More than anything else I think about what Jesus Christ would do in my place. I know that His love overcomes my weaknesses and inhibitions as I am willing to give them up and further become who I really am.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries share a message about how our Heavenly Father loves us and wants to bless us. They share personal experiences that have helped them to come to know God, who He is, and His plan for me and for you. They change and adapt what they share to individual needs, and answer questions. No matter they what they share, it is always centered on Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
