Hi I'm Dale

I'm 45 minutes from home serving the Lord in the St. George Utah Mission. You bet, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to run long distances, play the piano, eat, go for long rides, and travel. Staying active is a must with me. Sitting in one place for too long drives me crazy! But, it wasn't a surprise to me that I'd eventually be called to serve in the Philippines Cebu Mission. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I became extremely ill and I was sent home to recover. I was later called to my home mission in St. George Utah. I have learned so much about the atonement of Christ through my experience in the Philippines and the Gospel from a loving Heavenly Father in the St. George Utah mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS member family, but, I can say that I had to gain my testimony on my own. When I was 16, I realized I had just been borrowing the testimonies of my parents and decided I would find out if the church that I had attended all my life was true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed and asked the Lord for answers and I was able to receive those answers. I know I have received an answer. This Gospel has blessed my life more than anything. I am a Mormon because I know through my faith and religion, I can act on what I know and be blessed more than anything else I've done in life.

How I live my faith

Personally, Every morning when I get out of bed, I kneel down and say a prayer. I do that before I get into bed at night too. I go to church every week. I constantly read the scriptures. But, now that I'm on a mission, I live my faith to the fullest so that I can show others the way to true happiness. That happiness is through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, chosen to restore the gospel here on the earth. We are truly grateful that Joseph Smith chose to say a prayer one day and received a glorious answer to his prayer, but, we do not worship him. Joseph Smith did many great things, but, he is only a man. Men can do great things when they excercise faith and pray, and Joseph Smith is a great example of that. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. The church believes that it should stay out of politics and not influence one side or the other. The church wants everyone to have their own opinions on who would be the best to lead. They do not condemn people for chosing one side or the other, nor does the church condemn people for voting. Every member will still vote as it is a duty of a citizen and the church will not stop voting. Show more Show less

You can't find out if it is really true until you have read the book. Third, PRAY about the Book of Mormon and ask if it is really true. Then, you will know this church is true. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Of course! But, "Mormons" is only a nickname. Our church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints emphasis added. We are only called mormons because of the additional scripture that we believe to be true. That additional scripture is called the Book of Mormon. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. It says so on the front. So, even our nickname testifies that we ARE christian. Show more Show less
