Hi I'm Katie

I am a former rocket scientist. I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I worked as a chemical engineer in the aerospace and oil industries for several years before I became of mother of 4. My oldest son had a congenital heart defect and died shortly after he was born. I have 3 year-old twins, a boy and a girl, and a 1 year-old daughter. Sometimes it is hard to be a stay-at-home mom, but the small happy moments make it worth it and I wouldn't give that up for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. The Mormon church teaches that families can be together forever. My family is my life and I want the relationships I have wtih my parents, husband, and children to continue after I die. I know that if I follow the commandments of the Lord I will be able to be with my family, including my son who died again. This has given me great peace and strength.

How I live my faith

I organize activities for women in my local ward. Some of the topics of past activities include disaster preparedness, international cooking, a Christmas dinner and program, and a service project making pillowcases for pediatric cancer patients. I also occasionally teach the women in my ward.
