Hi I'm Phil

I'm a hiker, camper, backpacker, CPA, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am 42, a husband and father to three beautful children. I am a CPA and partner in a local firm. I enjoy backpacking, camping, hiking, and roadtriping. I have a motorcycle that I enjoy riding. I also enjoy and avidly follow college basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith and participation has grown emensely over the past 10 years. I was born and grew up in the church. I then fell into inactivity for 12 years. After I realized my life was going no where, I came back to church. Harmony and happiness entered my life again. I met my wife a recent convert to our church and now have a beautiful family. Raising my children with good values especially in the world we live in is extremely important to me. Serving with honest and virtueous people is a true joy.

How I live my faith

I am currently the ward mission leader. I encourage our members to do missionary work - talk to their neighbors about our faith and invite them out to church activities or our church meeting. I meet weekly with full time missionaries assigned to our ward and help them coordinate our member assisting on appointment they have with non-member investigators. I also help organize new convert baptisms. I am also a stake auditor. Twice a year, I audit two wards in our stake to be sure church policy related to collection and disbursement of funds is being followed. The church takes the finances extremely seriously and I am proud to use my talents as an accountant to help out.
