Hi I'm Jason

I'm a dog lover, travel enthusiast, and a CPA. I love Gator football, even when they aren't good. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a CPA for a small commercial real estate company, although that's not WHO I am. I love to travel and experience new places. I love the mountains but live near the beach. I'm a life-long die hard Florida Gator fan with the most energetic one year old black lab in the world, named Maverick. I love to read, watch movies, play sports, run for fun, occasionally play video games, listen to all types of music, take Maverick to the dog park, and cook when I have the time. I come from a family of 2 sisters, both younger than me. I don't have my own family yet but hope to one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is the only Church that is founded on the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. I was born a Mormon, but as a young adult I did not seek answers to my questions and as a result, I was not blessed with a strong testimony. But today, I have since worked hard to find the truth and with diligent reading of the scriptures and prayer to my Heavenly Father, I now know beyond any shadow of a doubt that this is truly His church, which was restored to this earth. I now know that my purpose on this earth isn't to make as much money as I can, or to realize and exercise power over others. Rather, my purpose is to follow Heavenly Father's plan to return to Him. I no longer define myself by my achievements, the job I have, or the things I own. Those things are not what will make me happy. I now know that I am a child of God with infinite worth, and was put here on this earth for the sole purpose of returning to live with my Heavenly Father. True happiness is found through living the principles and teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which was given to His children because He loves us and wants us to be happy. His gospel and His example has provided a very clear way for us all to pattern our lives and be happy. I am a Mormon because I want to be happy, but not just while I am here on earth. I want eternal happiness, which can only be achieved through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Since returning to church and gaining a testimony of the gospel, I've learned to set goals for myself which will allow me to progress in my life. I'm learning how to think less about myself and more about how I can better serve the needs of others. There are so many wonderful examples in this church of people that truly live by this principle everyday that it inspires me to work hard at incorporating these same qualities into my own life because I know that it will further strengthen my faith. Anyone could point to me and see that I haven't fully mastered the development of Christ-like attributes in my life, but one of the beautiful things about this church is that our Heavenly Father has given us the tools necessary to learn to master these aspects of our lives.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jason
Despite not going to church for a large part of my adult life, I never doubted that God exists. I've always believed that God created all things. However, when I fully accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my heart, the new blessings God gave me in my life were almost instantaneous. So much so that I felt unworthy to receive all of them. Yet, they still occurred. This greatly strengthen my testimony and proved to me that God wants to bless my life if only I will do my part. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Jason
I think the Mormon Church is probably the most misunderstood organization in the world. Over my lifetime, I've heard countless things said about the church which simply aren't true. Yet, people still believe them because they refuse to find out for themselves, instead relying on the thoughts of others to choose for them. One thing that makes this church obviously different than any other is our belief that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Many people attack this belief, however, how many of these people took the time to read it and pray to God about its truthfulness with a broken heart and a contrite spirit and real intent to find the truth? The answer is none of them did, otherwise, they would not be attacking it. I feel sorry for these people because there will be a day when all of them will have a perfect knowledge of the mistake they have made and they will have to live with that knowledge for eternity simply because they didn't want to put forth a sincere effort to discover for themselves the truthfulness of this church. But don't just take my word for it either. Read the Book of Mormon and ask God for yourself! If it's not true, do you think He would really lead you astray? Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Jason
Yes, husband and wife and their families can all be together for all eternity through the combination of living in accordance with those covenant's we make with God and the performance of sacred ordinances performed in the temple. This is one of our fundamental beliefs and blessings of the Mormon Church and is further evidence that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy both here on this earth and for eternity.
