Hi I'm Paul

I live in Washington D.C. I am married and have three energetic children.

About Me

I am 33 years old and have been married for nearly seven years. My wife and I have three children a 5-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter, and a 3-month-old boy. I am an attorney interested in tax law (it's not as boring as one might think). My wife is a full time student and stay-at-home mom, not sure how she does it. Our son just started preschool, our daughter has an infectious laugh, and our newborn loves to sleep. Life is busy. Between a doctors visit here, a recital there, and a routine trip to Ben & Jerry's it seems like there is always something to do...and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love music, reading, writing, playing the guitar, Sunday naps, walks with my wife and kids, and watching science fiction shows/movies.

Why I am a Mormon

As a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints I believe that there is a God in Heaven and that He loves us. I believe that Heavenly Father wants us to become like Him...just as any father would want that for their child. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to show us the way, and to make our divine potential not just a mere desire, but a most certain reality. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's church; it is the organization He established for the purpose of leading souls to Jesus Christ. The Lord leads and guides this Church through revelation to living Prophets. By following the Lord's guidance given through the living prophet it has been easier for me to overcome the unique challenges that we all face in the world in this day and age. By overcoming my weaknesses and continually striving to keep God's commandments and the covenants that I have made with Him, I know can become like Him. These principles are true; they bring me hope and peace, and make me want to be a better person. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the Savior's example. A few versus in the New Testament, specifically in 2 Peter chapter 1 versus 5-8, have helped me understand the type of characteristics Jesus embodied. Peter stated in those versus "giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." I've noticed that emulating these characteristics have helped me come closer to the savior, and strengthened my faith in him.
