Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a husband, a father, an electrical engineer, a mountain biker, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho and currently live in a gorgeous part of the state close to hundreds to great mtb trails and other outdoor areas which I enjoy using every chance I get. There is something about being in the middle of the wilderness that lifts my spirit and makes me feel closer to God. I have a wonderful wife who is my best friend and four fabulous kids who add joy and excitement to my life. I work as an electrical engineer and have had the opportunity to travel around the US on various projects, seeing much of our this great country. Though every trip I look forward to getting back to my family as home is where I most want to be. Being frequently gone makes me savor every moment I spend with them. I have the opportunity to work with the youth in my congregation and enjoy seeing their goodness, it gives me great hope for the future. Generally my life seems incredibly ordinary to me but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and was baptized when I was eight. I think I always knew the things I learned at church were true but as a teenager preparing for a mission I started questioning things and began a personal quest to find the truth for myself. I started praying and asking God if this was really his church and if I should be a part of it. I received a very strong witness that it was and that I should. That witness and following experiences which to me are like someone speaking directly to my soul are what keep me strong in my faith. I also find joy beyond what is found in the world around me through living the teachings of the gospel and understanding the Plan of Happiness prepared for us by God. I don't know what I would be if I weren't a Mormon because the the best things in my life all have come as a direct result of my keeping the faith. I love my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ and feel so blessed to be a member of His church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

My faith is evident through the way I treat others and live my life, as I follow the standards of the church. I work with my wife to raise children who know our beliefs and desire to choose the right. I am a hometeacher and work with the youth in my area, organizing wholesome activities for them to participate in.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

We believe the Prophet is chosen by God, just like those serving in any position in the church. We don't aspire to any position but do what we are asked. I would be most happy teaching the children or youth but will serve wherever I am called to. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family is the central unit of the church. Nothing on this earth is more important to me than my family. We believe that through the priesthood power of God on the earth that families can be together in our next life with God, if we follow his commandments on earth and are sealed together as families in the temple.
