Hi I'm John

I'm a domesticated husband, a back-yard coach, a father, a finance professional, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Husband, father of four beautiful children. Financial analyst by day--chess player, Church volunteer, and casual sports player and observer at all other hours. Parlez-vous francais? I lived in France & Switzerland as a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to follow the faith of my fathers having come to know it for myself in a very personal way. I've studied it out and have to come to know through prayer and trial that it is true. It brings me immense peace and joy living the life of a latter-day saint.

How I live my faith

I practice my faith daily through personal and family prayer and study of the Bible, the Book of Mormon and other scriptures. I attend weekly church services. I am strengthened by the rich associations with others of faith. I have served as a volunteer in my church in many different ways: Scouting, attending/organizing activities for teenage youth in the church, teaching classes, and performing various administrative duties. I believe that God wants me to give deeply of myself in order to learn and grow and to help others do the same. Serving has been an incredibly fulfilling part of my membership in the church. It's great to help others come closer to God, and I know I'm becoming a better husband, father, and friend in the process.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

John
Living in a way that is contrary to God's plan not only makes us unhappy now, but also it separates us spiritually from God now and forever... unless this separation is bridged, we all would become miserable. Christ provides the bridge back to God. Because of His suffering, death and resurrection, He has the power to offer us the ability to return back to God if we will turn to Him with all our hearts and keep His commandments. He will plead our cause before God if we do all we can to follow Him. Show more Show less
