Hi I'm Tim

I am a disciple of Christ. Family is very important to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family, so I have lived in many places in the US and the world. I have been married 52 years, have 9 children and 39 grandchildren. I worked as a market research analyst and an IT professional until I retired two years ago. I enjoy astronomy, reading, singing, writing, travel, but most of all I enjoy serving within my church. I have mostly been a teacher and missionary during my adult life, and currently serve as supervisor in our local early morning seminary for over 200 high school age youth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's true. Everything Joseph Smith did to re-establish God's church on the earth was required of him by God. He was God's living prophet in his day. Today there is another living prophet who is charged by God to take His word to all the world and to preside over God's covenant people. Knowing there is a living prophet is very important to me - for 'Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets', and I know that God surely does many things in the world today. I love to feel the Holy Spirit as I attend meetings with other Latter-Day Saints, I love the abundance of spirit I feel in God's temples. As one who is ordained as an authorized minister of Jesus Christ, I have directly experienced the power of God in the lives of many. I have seen those raised from their sickbeds, seen those comforted by the spirit during times of trial or loss, and I have seen the power of the Atonement affect the lives of so many people whose lives are changed forever because of that Atonement and the power of the priesthood in ministering to them. I especially appreciate the opportunities I have in this church to serve in various capacities, to give of my time to bless the lives of others, and to feel the love of God for me as I do so. It's all the reward anyone could or should ever hope for while ministering to the needs of others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a number of ways. First, I continue to prepare myself to be a worthy disciple of Christ, by study, by prayer, by keeping covenants I have made with God. Second, as a disciple I serve others. I have served in a variety of assignments within the church as a teacher, adult leader, youth leader, as a missionary. I also am involved in the community. I found a local singing group of wonderful people who share many of the same beliefs as I do, and enjoy their company as we sing good songs and perform for our community. I have served politically as a delegate to local and state conventions within my political party, trying to insure that good people are elected to office who uphold values that I can relate to. By assignment I visit three families regularly to help them grow and develop in the gospel. I have come to love these as my own family, and would do for them as I would for family members. I have had opportunity to teach several of them in preparation for their baptism as they expressed interest in membership in God's church.
